This is just crazy; a good reason to temporarily close borders:

Covid: 52 passengers test positive on Indian flight to Hong Kong:

I wonder if this has/is happening world wide?

A growing backlog of court cases nationwide, made worse by Covid-19 lockdowns, is seeing hundreds face longer stays behind bars - some without conviction, new figures show:

https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/kiwi-prisoners-face-longer-stays-behind-bars-without-conviction

This is definitely happening in the UK although there was already a large backlog before the pandemic. Chronic underfunding and closing lots of court buildings over the past couple of decades have contributed to the cases piling up. The pandemic has made things worse. I saw a report in a newspaper that there are 57K cases waiting to go to the Crown court ( they are cases that need a jury ) and 470k waiting to go to the Magistrates court.

My husband had his 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday. He was contacted to arrange the appointment 9 days beforehand. He has had no side effects at all this time, not even a sore arm. I'm still waiting to hear when I'll get my 2nd jab. I had my first 8 days after my husband and it was the Pfizer vaccine. If the timings were the same I should have heard something by now...looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer. :(

^that isn't enough to cause them to close borders........This is going to get so much worse to force change, 30million pending to die....i gave people enough time, time for more variants to 'force' airports to shutdown O_o

"if they don't learn and change it will get worse and worse, if the governments around teh globe get overrun by it's own people for failures....maybe it's for the best...."

It's because of people like this:

Newshub: British writer under fire for scathing review of New Zealand's COVID-19 border measures.
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2021/04/british-writer-under-fire-for-scathing-review-of-new-zealand-s-covid-19-border-measures.html

There are people out there that don't see past their own nose; they have no care for those around them - doesn't matter the distance or what goes on in other countries. All that matters is there own self-centredness.

I see what you mean.
Like those who think herd immunity is a good way to control Covid and the countless deaths this would entail, not to mention this action would perpetrate a certain amount of silent virus spreading. And what about those who see no urgency to get vaccinated!

^i'm in no rush, vaccines will 'save' lives but will 'not' stop covid 19. covid 19 has a fail safe designed, some who have been vaccinated can still get and pass on covid 19. And it's impossible to give everyone a shot before the next variant(s)....

The current vaccine variants, as with many other measures, 'help' stop the ever increasing contraction of the virus, it's spread and its severity. Any vaccines also offers a measure of resistance to new future strains of the virus. Without the mass use of the vaccine, or non compliance of use by the public, the effect of which can currently be seen in India would be replicated in many other countries also.
New virus variants always appear, as with flu, so do new vaccine variants to help combat these new appearances.
Like Flu, this was never going to be a one hit solution, no one has suggested it was. But one certainty is this - if no vaccines were administered there would be an immeasurable death rate that would take many centuries for the world to recover from.
I find it hard to reconcile that given there are vaccines available some people will not partake of them and for the most spurious, selfish and self centred of reasons.

^ India's spread is linked to how they use their water/how many people are so close to one another. Not because of lacking vaccines.

I made no mention of the lack of vaccines.
