Thats only half the story Nex.
Its not like you're safe in the day either.
Have you forgotten that they also lurk in shadows? And what about cracks in the pavement?
Oh yeah, it hides everywhere (except Walmart), but, people are literally under curfew right now in so many places. Ask the CM mods what time they have to be inside by. They'll tell you that if they get caught outside between 8pm and 5am (without a legitimate exclusion, such as a dog), they can be fined up to $6000.

What does that have to do with herd immunity? They didn't die from contracting the virus a second time, they died from other complications, notably diabetes 2:

Eermm you need to read ....

"The devastating long-term effects of Coronavirus can cause many survivors to develop heart problems, diabetes and chronic liver and kidney conditions."

Not sure if many (if any) has died from anything called Covid19 - they die from problems that develop from contracting the virus. In the cases point out those who have recovered from the virus and subsequently died from Covid-related complications.

It has do with Herd Immunity - (if you follow the recent posts) in the sense that certain people consider the survivability of contracting the virus as a viable option as it offers a certain immunity. The findings seem to that dispel misguided conception.

But then there are always those who ignore the facts and cherry pick supposed faults with their own interpretation of established findings - simply often to cloud an argument for the sake of championing cynicism.
It literally says in the article that they're dying from diabetes complications. I quoted that part. That doesn't mean herd immunity doesn't work. It means these people are dying from other conditions which may or may not be associated with the virus. Sure, it's easy to just claim "well, they had covid 5 months ago, so, it must be a covid death..." but that's not accurate, is it? They died from a different complication that's being conflated to covid.

Did you even read the article before you cherry picked it? :P

Here in the UK the Govt have been warbling about Vitamin D for quite a few months.

As I'm on the "clinically extremely vulnerable" list I got a letter last Autumn (thereabouts) advising me to sign up for free supplies of Vit D.

I've taken it for years anyway partly for Type 1 reasons and partly because I'm very fair-skinned and can tolerate only minimal strong sunshine.

^ That's just an observation on recent posts. Not saying it's good or bad, useful or useless to take it.

That's useful info for me regarding vitamin D deficiency.
You have motivated me into buying a bunch of vitamin supplements.
Sunshine and a good diet will also help with vitamin D. Certain raw veggies (such as spinach and kale) contain vitamin D, as well as mushrooms, red meats, and certain fish (such as tuna, herring and salmon).

Your best defense against the virus isn't some cloth mask or some imaginary 6 foot boundary safe space around you. Being healthy is one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself from viral infections.

I also read that article this morning. Can these later-on deaths be called "Covid deaths" I am pondering.

Loosely, I suppose. Those unfortunate people might never have developed the complications of diabetes, heart and other organ damage, until much later in their lives or maybe not at all had they not had Covid in the first place.

It's a bit like someone drinking heavily for decades, then stopping, but they die of massive liver damage anyway. Did the alcohol kill them or did they die from liver failure?

Of course it does.
It also "literally" says (the part you conveniently omit) they die from problems that develop from contracting the virus and includes other types of complications such as chronic liver and kidney conditions and heart problems.
Specifically on diabetes Kamlesh Khunti, the author of the findings says...
'We don't know if it's because Covid destroyed the beta cells which make insulin and you get Type 1 diabetes, or whether it causes insulin resistance, and you develop Type 2, but we are seeing these surprising new diagnoses of diabetes.'

I know you like to dally with red herrings in your posts but if you really think there is any inaccuracy in the article how about sending your concerns and obvious extensive wisdoms on the subject to....

I'm getting increasingly vexed at both the media and our Govt for announcing, amidst much fanfare, about how well the UK are doing with the vaccination programme.

Today, apparently, 10 new 'Super Hubs' are opening and will be offering jabs to the clinically extremely vulnerable (me) plus the over 70's.

I haven't received an invitation yet (fair enough) but my nearest Hub is 50 miles away in one direction or would involve a trip to the London centre (eurgh). Plus, countrywide, only about half of the first 2 tiers have been vaccinated.

I wish they'd stop giving it the Billy Big 'Un and tell it like it really is.

But Professor Khunti said he was surprised to find that patients were returning to hospital with a different diagnosis and that many had developed further complications.

He added: '
