They do look lovely in Spring. I've got a handful planted in various tubs which have later-flowering plants but as I've got no lawn or borders, as such, I can only go for little dots of colour here and there.

The time is fast approaching when I've got to start pruning the rose bushes .... takes about a week on and off as I've got so many, lol. Then the honeysuckle and clematis need cutting back, plus the enormous Buddleia needs razing to the ground (again) ... several trips to the Council tip will be required pretty soon.

Fingers crossed the weather stays dry, the Ole Man complains something awful if he has to stack up the back of his estate car with wet stuff.

Yesterday I started pulling up the bedding plants but hubby asked me not to pull up the ones with a few flowers still on them. I cleared enough space to start planting some miniature daffodils but I'd only put in a few when it started to rain quite heavily. :(

Got a nice little selection of housewarming plants from my Mom :)

They all look nice and healthy. I recognise 2 of them. The Spider plant and I think the purply one is a Tradescantia
edit to add: just spotted a Jade plant in the middle.

Oh there is more to gardening than just outside. Three of the rooms in my house, my husband calls the jungle. In one of the jungle, four philodendrems have taken over, have them staked up the walls and across the ceiling. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

I've just spent £30+ on crocus bulbs.

Got around 250 bulbs to plant once I get a decent dry day.

These will get 2/3 of my garden covered in crocus flowers in Spring. Just 1/3 of my garden left to plant up and that will be next year.

It's around 30 holes with 8 bulbs in each hole. That should fill up a good patch of my garden. It all ready has a good patch of them. Can't wait till they all grow. :P

May I suggest Snap Dragons and Hollyhocks.

The snapdragons I planted in late spring are still flowering. :) I'll leave them until they get hit by frost or no flowers on them. I've never grown hollyhocks but I've already got some foxgloves growing for next year. They self seeded from this year's plants, I just need to make sure my husband doesn't pull them up by mistake. He's not very good at identifying plants unless they're roses or grass. :P

Hollyhocks are very easy to grow, plant, forget, water every now and then. They come back year after year, and are extremely low maintence.

Ever since I retired my husband hates it when I go to Lowe's, Home Depot, or Sutherlands. Since I always come back with more plants.
