I know I've probably said this before but I live in an apartment which doesn't get a lot of light.

So what I need is a few plants in pots that dont need a lot of light.

There is the golden pothos, those things are almost impossible to kill. Bird's nest fern, spider plant, chinese evergreen, calathea rattlesnake, monstera deliciosa, zz plant, and philodendron brasil. Those are what I would recommend.

And as an added bonus with the golden pothos, you can get more than one by cuttings.

It also depends on how much attention you want to dedicate to them, and how you'd like to decorate your space.

Pothos and the philodendron brasils are trailing plants, and monsteras need something to climb (and can get *very* large after some years), so they're all great in their own ways. Spider plants look really cool xd

I got this funky looking snake plant a while back called a 'star canyon granite' and it looks basically dead but it isn't and it looks weird af I love it.

Yesterday was a nice day so I went and tied down all my climbing roses to my fence. I cas cut to ribbones with all the thorns. Wow they got me good lol.

Poor things were covered in green fly and black spot so they got a good drenching of black spot cure. The ladybirds can have the green fly. ;)

They do look good though. Year 2 and so far 1 is about 8 feet wide across the fence in both directions. Next year fingers crossed there will be even more roses to smell and sneeze at lol.

We used to have a Mahonia Charity in the south west corner of the garden but it grew far too big. Over 8 feet tall by around 9 feet wide so we had it cut down 2 years ago. The garden looks a lot bigger without it. The roots and stump were too big to get out easily so the main roots were cut into to try and prevent regrowth...that hasn't really worked as every now and then it still grows leaves from the base. I keep cutting them off and hope that it will eventually stop. I took off several leaves yesterday and I dead headed some of the perennials.
I also cut back a lavender planted in a border between the patio and the lawn. It is taking over the patio so something had to be done. I know it won't grow back from the old wood but it is far too big. I'll cut it back some more in a couple of weeks.

Brought my husband a vase of fresh cut flowers today, the last cuttings I will get for the year from my roses, and azealas. The rest of my flowering plants, save for my mums are through for the year. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

spent most of the day cleaning out my annual flower beds and prepping the soil for next year. I do love annuals, but thinking about going all perinials, or native self seeding annuals. Most of my perinial beds are natives. Got the last pickings of my green beans too, so they got pulled and given to Franky our pet capybara, who was in hog heaven. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

Over the last few weeks I've been checking my gooseberries I planted last year. They started off well but I had no idea of the caterpillers who munched every leaf lastyear lol.

This year I've kept my eye on them and pulling off 10-20 caterpillers a day to keep them growing well. I don't like chemicals. So handpick them off.

So far they are doing well. 1 more then the other 2 as it's tripple the size of the other 2. 3 different verities so this 1 must be the better 1. It was also the only 1 to produce any gooseberries.

Can't wait till next season.

Rhubarb did great. Well 2 plants did awesome.

They were also planted last years. 1 plant was doing great then all the leaves fell off. Grew 2 more and thats about it. I think it was too hot for them this year and they dried up.

Still got 2 empty places for 2 more plants. I've tried for 2 years to grow rhubarb in them places and they seem to not grow. So next year I'll put in more plants in a slightly different spot in the raised bed. Fingers crossed that works.

News next year around April. :P
