@ Brigantia. Rincewind and Twoflower! You must be a fan of the Discworld books.
I am! I've only read 1.2 of the books so far, but those two are my favourite characters so far!
Also: Anyone got any advice on where I can find some good iron supplements for le plants? Or what sort of brand to look for? I think one of my lemons may be coming down with chlorosis (yellowy leaf with dark green veins) and I'm trying to correct that. I used a little (really, a tiny amount) bit of fertilizer that has some iron in it but I don't want to overdo it.
Arrr! Only th' Devil an' I know th' where'bouts o' me treasure, an' th' one o' us who lives th' longes' should take i' all.

Just saw that my calamondin (Roger) has cottony cushion scale. Ew! I wiped them off with a cotton swab dipped in surgical spirit. I hope that'll be enough to get rid of it! It was gross.
Thankfully Roger isn't that big so it hasn't been a huge job. I wiped off all the white spots I could see with the cotton swab and surgical spirit. I'll keep an eye on him and see how he does.
I'm so grossed out rn lol

I often just put a nail in the pot so when it goes rusty it helps the plants out.
Rusty nails can help revive plants.
Not sure how to put your old rusty nails to use? This trick is an easy and smart way to save your plants, using something as simple as an old metal nail. Simply place rusty metal nails with water into a bottle and leave for a few days until the water has turned a brown-like colour. Then pour the water onto your wilting plants and watch their leaves revive again. The rust releases iron which is crucial in helping to nourish dying plants.
I now have 4 - 6 rhubarb showing. Happy with that for this year. No sign of the other 2. Fingers crossed they will show after that last few days of very impressive weather.

I don't have any nails on hand, unfortunately. I'll probably just pop over to B&Q at some point this week and see what they have, and maybe pick up some nails on the side.
EDIT: We found some nails! Now to rust them... lol

Our grass seems to grow quite fast at the moment.
@Brigantia. At least you're getting something done for the service charge. Our youngest son's flat hasn't had the windows cleaned in the 4 years he's lived there! Its too high for him to do them himself. I have to admit the inside communal area is kept clean.
The front lawn now has an established bank of buttercups. It took a few years to pull this off.
Right at the foot of a river birch which delays their daily opening a bit. No grass mowing there until they finish blooming!
EDIT: Well that was disappointing. Apparently these are not buttercups as i have called them since childhood. Trying to properly identify now.
