I trust fox news

i find that ironic considering your name

and even though they outed themselves as liars?

why trust them at all when its clear they arent here for actual news?

being as someone thats not america, i find it really weird people even watch fox news so im very curious as to why people see them as a source to trust. when its clear they are not.

. All media issues have credibility

indeed and the worse of them is fox news. as it all wants to do is spread fear.

they shout anti vax. but yet

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2021/sep/15/fox-news-vaccines-testing-tucker-carlson

I trust them most compared to other news stations I mean because all media has credibility issues. Fox news does report legitimate stories like issues of increase in crime since blm defund the police movement.

right so because they fuel your bias i seeee

Even though fox news is an influential station and they have Biases too, They are drastically outnumbered by other news stations. Fox news Has limited control over the narrative Compared to hundreds of news outlets etc. As for vaccines many people questioned them during the pandemic and people were forced to take them or else they would be fired.

I don't really trust the majority media look at how they reported on the Rachael Richardson story about a racial slur they mass reported on that and that racial slur never happened. The majority media never apologized for that misinformation and even then its a slur not a major story. I don't trust everything fox news says either but the difference is when you compare to others. .

Joel is pretty scary.

Nah, he's a fluffy kitten compared to some of the FMods we used to have... *cough*

Back on topic:

I get my news via RSS from a carefully curated set of sources chosen either because
a) they have a proven ability to attempt to remain objective, or
b) they have excellent coverage of a particular region or niche that interests me, or
c) they have clear biases that I can make allowance for when reading their material.

The TV new channels here in the Czech Republic are fairly useless if you want anything except Czech news; their coverage of international affairs is minimal, and uneven in terms of quality.

A fluffy kitten I take as a compliment :D

The dangerous thing with many media outlets these days seems to be with audience capture and the cult-like behaviour of people and their unbreakable loyalty to certain outlets. Your attention to outlets should be how well they report stories, facts & reality which even over time or story to story could change.

Even with recent court filings when it's been proven in court with evidence that a particular outlet & their hosts knew the reality and spoke about it privately yet said the complete opposite on air probably won't make any difference to the audience of that outlet or the shows on that outlet which seems outrageous yet is exactly what's happening.

I watched the recent episode of Bill Maher where he had Russell Brand and John Heilemann on a panel and Brand kinda summed it up perfectly (which Heilemann didn't appreciate lol) in his remarks on American media with regards to Fox News, MSNBC etc and that they're all sides of the same coin, although within that there's more nuance because with that assessment you can also further judge some outlets more than others.

Regardless, independent journalists and outlets seem to be the better way to go these days unfortunately.
