Original message details are unavailable.

Apparently, you think that 'normal' people should regularly break the law, and that speed LIMITS are not, in fact, limits at all, just kind of advisory suggestions.

People like you are the reason for more accidents and more road deaths.
no i only do 5 over max im not talking 15-20 over while drinking.

Ah yes, the "I only break the law a little bit, so it doesn't matter" argument. Basically saying that you can do what you like because you know better than everyone else what's okay, and what isn't.

Spoiler alert: you don't.

I think the speed limit is too high and not enough people follow the rules.

I think... sure... speeding during a nominal... a typical drive... you can probably get away with it and nothing will go wrong. We all know that things do go wrong every once in a while. Is there a way for you to say "Okay, this trip is the one... the one that something will go wrong. My tire will pop 13 minutes into the drive, and so I'll just slow down for this one." "This trip: 2 cars in front of me the person will have a medical emergency and will need to come to a quick stop so I'll just be ready to stop while going over the speed limit." No. You don't know. That's why you need to follow the rules. The rules help for the likely corner cases after you have been driving for a while, and you never know when it'll happen. You need to give yourself and others some margin for these imperfections.

I rode a motorcycle for years and I've seen too many people learn this lesson the hard way :( Things happen, and fingers crossed isn't good enough especially when your decisions put others at risk too.

What do you think the speed limit is based on? It's not just a random number.

It is based on a classification of local conditions and an assessment of likely danger.

If you choose to ignore the established limit, you are indeed saying that you know better than the experts who established that limit, and better than the people who stick to it. QED.

You are also trying to defend your apparent belief that you can just ignore the law, i.e. you think it doesn't apply to you (for whatever reason).

@Archaeox

Your actually right. We should all stick to the speed limit, and not drink and drive.

Here in NZ its 50k/hr unless you are on the open road (motorway) which is 100k/hr.

But drivers can get fined in NZ for driving to slow.

where i live u do 5 over like a normal person u slow drivers drive me crazy

where i live if there is a school the limit is 5mph. if you go 5mph over then you are doing double the speed limit. thats a big a no no. speed limits are there for a reason, thats being too slow and being too fast both just as dangerous as the other.

Let's start with the reality: even if you drive just 1 mph over the limit, you're still breaking the law. Speed limits are there for a reason, so don't ignore them! Furthermore, speed limits are just that—a limit, rather than a recommended speed

I forgot to say in my previous post that I do obey the speed limit. I only know that the people I was complaining about are breaking the 30 mph limit because I slow down to the limit and they disappear into the distance.

People who drive slow are usually bullied into speeding up and that causes accidents.

If you ask me, speed limit at most times is 30, if someone wants to drive at 25 its their choice, even if u overtake them they will probably be the car behind you at the next set of lights.

I get it if someone is driving at say 40 on a motorway cos that can be classed as borderline dangerous but in reality if it's slow drivers apparently "hindering" your journey, remember one thing...

Be thankful you are driving mate cos you could be on a fuckin bus rofl....

Much love

i wouldnt call it crazy. childrens safety is important, they are unpredictable stopping speed at 5mph is way different at 25mph :P
but it does depend where the nearest school to me is 5mph. but there are some that are up to 20mph
