Looks like Tokyo Mirage Sessions floundered in Japan, as expected. The censorship was always going to do that.

A niche game, for a small audience, as well as being an inferior version of a previous product that is still svailable to buy.

Even fan translations aren't safe from brigades and extreme criticism.

Let's talk about The Feud and Ali and Mod Jack's mad ranting as a result. "Revenge...is like a rolling stone, which, when a man hath forced up a hill, will return upon him with a greater violence, and break those bones whose sinews gave it motion."- Jeremy Taylor

I haven't seen that, where can one view it? What was Jack's complaint?

Look up the Patch Notes on Diversity.

Basically, they changed the names of all the people in Polli from "Ali" to...stereotypical Middle Eastern names to "Avoid offense".

They also changed Aris' title from "Gypsy" to "Traveller"

They also changed the examine text and names of Jungle Savages and Tribesmen to like....Skilled Warrior n shit.

And then Jack went to Twitter on what is now a multiday tirade trying to defend it and essentially calling people who oppose it racist.

You've got to love when a white guy virtue signals for other people. It's definitely not for attention, or all about them, in the slightest.

I knew Jagex were bad, but I didn't realise they were allowing such maniacs to force through their opinions into the game.

Finally, I find a thread on this topic that appears to actually be respectful rather than overwhelmingly toxic unlike the reactions after the gay pride event in OSRS. I think they're necessary if they make even one person feel more accepted so long as they don't affect the actual gameplay for anyone else. If they start to affect the actual gameplay such as by giving womxn characters 21% extra cash in-game to compensate for a real life wage gap, then we're gonna start to have issues. If slayer is a skill, then I guess these slayer drop tables catered to skillers by pumping out so many resources. :)
