I am actually really happy to see you make a post like this,. Many people including myself deal with or have dealt with a form of mental illness at one time or another. Some are still dealing with it to this day. There are people out there who need some serious help. I am glad to see such a supportive post. Thanks to Jagex for supporting mental health awareness.

Thank you for sharing this post. This post was meaningful to me because it reminds me of things I think about, and why I'm motivated against judging other people. It's very painful when people disrespect me and judge me despite the things I already go through and experience. It hurts my dignity, not that I expect to be respected, but It's painful and/or despairing to be judged wrongly when people simply do not understand what I experience.

A learning experience I've been going through combined with reading this post is simply not to judge people when you shouldn't.

Thank you for sharing and kudos to you for making that step to bettering yourself! I think you've reminded me not to do the same.

Apparently here in New Zealand we have one of, or maybe the highest rate of youth suicide in the developed world. Which is a strange thing because we often think of this as "god zone" or a kind of paradise in a world full of hurt.

But there are clearly everyday pressures and issues that young New Zealanders, and the not so young struggle with.

We are fortunate that a number of years ago a prominent Rugby player stood up and went public with his lifelong struggle with depression. It was a big surprise to most people because he was an All Black legend. His name is John Kirwan and his is a household name here to most people regardless of age or how much interest someone has in Rugby. He has become a spokesman for a movement that is fronted by the NZ website depression.org and it is credited with becoming a success in reaching out to and helping sections of the community that are known to be hard to reach.

I know depression is only one aspect of mental illness, I have stuggled with it most of my life and have masked it with another illness I have, substance abuse for as long as I can remember. But on a positive note I have had some success by being willing to accept treatment for my problems.

Also I have known a number of people during my lifetime who have been clinically diagnosed with such iillnesses as bipolar and schizophrenia. Infact a longtime partner of mine who suffered with bipolar disorder passed away some years ago.

So I can feel your pain and know something about the struggles posters in this thread are going through. My only advice is remember there is help out there.

Just wanted to say that it has been a long journey, but even after quitting every last one of my addictions and changing my life completely in hopes of managing my mental illness, I am finally going to get medications to manage my mental illness.

I can't really share that anywhere else, but I reached out this very week about this.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

That's great to hear. Nearly every health issue can be managed through making changes to your life or taking medications. One more addiction to get rid of though: RSOF.

Nah, I like my RSOF injected straight into my cornea.
