Still waiting on Dies Irae's full translated release. They said the patch was supposed to be available ages ago, but looks like they've pushed it back yet again.

"Concerning the 18+ patch, the translation is now complete and we are now in the programming stage. The patch is now scheduled to be available at the end of September."

So Valve is now allowing full on eroge onto Steam, providing you cover the "ahem" naughty bits. To see a hillarious example of what I mean, look up "Treasure of a Blizzard" on Steam.

ROFL level of funny. And of course thats all it takes to get an eroge onto their platform now.

If they are going to allow that, then they might as well as allow full nudity and simply have a way for people to filter out games that are too mature for them.

I assume Steam already has such features. Knowing Valve, probably not.

I assume Steam already has such features. Knowing Valve, probably not. It's possible there are certain legalities involved in it. I don't know all the details behind their reasoning. But, it does mean more real Eroge have a good chance of making it to the west, which is always a plus in my books. I'm still waiting for the day we can see things like Bible Black and Mahou Shoujo Ai on there. Actual, true, good eroge, ones that show that nukige are not the sole genre of eroge. Maybe then we'll be able to finally clear some of the stigma surrounding the genre. Leader of The Enemy ||

I'm honestly not that worried about censorship, as long as it's done tastefully, and not making a complete mockery of the art. I don't play them for that reason. At any rate, was browsing through an Abandonware site out of boredom, looking through old VN's they had there. Theres a bunch for the PC-98. pretty neat stuff to be honest.

But the art for this one struck me as a bit amazing.



That's a screenshot from the PC-98 version of Dracula Hakushaku. Looking at it, I'm actually amazed that that's from a PC-98 game. When you compare the quality of it to other stuff from that platform, you see a huge difference. I didn't even know they could pull out that level of quality from the system. You'd think it was from a modern day VN to be honest. It's really quite cool, at least in my opinion. Leader of The Enemy ||
