So I took a glance a Sekai Project's project status page, and it seems that the Baldr Sky translation is at 90% now, with the engine work at 50%. Who knows. Maybe we might get lucky and see the english release of Dive 1&2 before 2020 comes around.

Have visual novels become less popular in Japan? I've not seen any interesting releases in years. Especially when looking for fan translations or even official localisations.
When searching for new visual novels, there is mostly western trash.
The eroge industry as a whole has been in a bit of a downturn. Number of companies have been downsizing, rebranding under different names to try and regain traction, or just outright closing doors.
And as for bad western stuff, that's really not much different than how it is in Japan. Every month there's a fresh set of releases on the market, and the majority of them are just copy-paste nukige stuff. Things like Baldr Sky, Fortissmo, Grisaia, these are more exceptions to the norm than anything.
Now on the topic of trashy western ones, I did come across one that really made me cringe.
The Home Appliance Dating Sim.
The idea of that one just scared me.

It looks like currently it's just the 15+ release of ~Amentes amentes~ available yeah. I'm guessing the devs were probably sticklers and gave that one to Mangamer over the 17+ release when they originally liscened it. Probably would've given them a 15+ version of ~Acta est Fabula~ if it was available.
Though it does appear that the +17 release is on the table for release at some point. Though god only knows when that'll be.

Ugh. Can Sekai Project just release Dracu Riot! already? They were literally handed the full translation by Oxford subs 3 years ago now. It can't seriously take them this long to edit it and make a full release.

Yeah. The Oxford Comma one. They just never got it fully edited because Sekai Project made a deal with them and took it off their hands so they could use it in order to do a licensed release of it.
And that was 3 years ago now.
And of course as part of the deal, Oxford Comma pulled the fan translation so as not to compete with the licensed release.
