I agree, it does appear that spring is just around the corner. The Blue Jays are beginning to return, as well as, the Crows. Both have distinct caws that announce them well before they are even seen.

We've an old set of aluminium long ladders propped up against a high wall at the back of the garden next to our wood store. We don't go to that part of the garden very much, as it's all large logs waiting to be cut down then split for the fire, once they've seasoned.
There's a nest appeared right at the top, just under the bit that flaps out into a top step - furtive observation revealed a Thrush peeping down suspiciously at the dogs, who pass by frequently on their perambulations around their perimeter.
I thought Thrushes were far too shy to nest anywhere near people or activity. Perhaps the lure of constant easy food and water was just too tempting.
Seems like it
didn't you have a young thrush hanging about last year?
Only nest I've found so far was a wrens but it had to be moved due to it constructing it near the mud flaps on the pigeon wagon which will be starting to be used again this month so not the best place for it!
Yes, we did have what I thought was probably a young (rather tatty looking) thrush loitering last year. I wonder if it's the same one, just got used to being around us and the dogs!
We had a blackbird nesting in almost the same place last year. Magic ladders.
