Instrumental Ranking
- Each Instrument has ranks while playing. Low ranks result in more failed attempts at playing the instrument, thus resulting in an out of tune sound or the song will play for 1-5 seconds out of tune. An instrument can rank up by playing the same instrument enough times.
Rankings will range from F - A.
Lowest
- F
Highest
- A
Trivia
- Notes on a staff have letters 'E' though 'F'. This includes the letter 'G'. 'G' will not be a rank. Ranks will be the same as getting an 'A' or an 'F' on a test.
Suggestion:
Add a * as a rank to indicate you mastered that instrument. Instead of only going up to rank 'A', one would rank up once more beyond that to reach * status. Maybe we can add prestiged rank to this, but in a different way.
Ranks will range from *+1 - *+10 depending on if maxing at a regular * rank will be too easily obtained in a short amount of time from leveling one instrument making failing an instrument less of an issue(See Degrading Instruments).
Degrading Instruments
- Instruments will degrade when failed attempts come into play. An instrument obtained from having a higher Music Level does not mean less time spent failing. The instrument will still need to be ranked up to * status to prevent failing, but the instrument will still degrade over time due to multiple uses.
Q&A:
How will we determine the XP for leveling an instrument?
The duration while playing the instrument will give XP. Higher ranks result in more XP.
How will we determine the rate at which an instrument degrades?
Many items degrade. This shouldn't be an issue to figure out the rate at which one degrades.

Umm, what about the G chord?
It won't be a grade, but it will be a chord.
