- Invention Component Sink for daily experimental devices that players can make for a chunk of XP, but no device is actually made.
Stave
Spiked
Smooth
Delicate
Metallic
Plated
Junk
Variable
Direct
Light
Clockwork
Brassican
Culinary
Knightly
Corporeal
Faceted
I want to personally toss in Organic
Most of these don't have Invention Devices players can make.
These are ones players likely have in bulk.
So the concept would be to have an "Experimental Invention Devices" section where the player can, once per day, make an "Experimental Invention Device" for a chunk of XP using the listed components in bulk.
The Experimental Device "blows up" on them but you still get XP for what you did.
Think of it as the player kludging together their components to push the boundaries of science.
For example:
Experimental Magic Staff awards Invention and Runecrafting XP at the cost of 1000 Stave, 3000 Junk, and several Light components
Experimental Potion awards Herblore XP at the cost of 2500 Organic, 4000 Junk, and several Culinary or Variable components
Experimental Sword awards Invention and smithing XP at the cost of Metallic, Junk, Direct, and Knightly components
Experimental Food Dish requires Organic, Junk, Culinary, and Brassican components to award Invention and cooking XP.
Experimental crossbow/bold requires spiked, junk, and knightly to earn Fletching and Invention XP
The amount of components and XP awarded would be up to the devs/balancing.
But the goal would be a way for players to sink the components they might have built up a lot of since release with not real way to use them.
But by doing several thousand at once, it can justify say a 4k in core skill and 1k invention
Remember that a lot of the things we disassembly only give 1 or a few components each, so that stack of 10k logs only gives out 1/3 simple and 1/3 organic. So 3k organic for 10k logs or food.
Plus you wouldn't be developing any actual items for in game use.
