there's a system called lost item claims. im not going further into the full situation though since there's conflicting sides of the story on the battlestaffs.

I guess people are trying to get rid of their tokens after seeing what happened to rainbow tokens.
I don't blame them especially with the TH changes that sounds like they'll make red and purple prices more common and add all cosmetics to the oddments store.
But it's been a while since they announced walks to be reintroduced so who knows if anything will actually change.

Don't forget beach tokens. "You probably won't see these again." then "They're back!"

Next year it'll be, "Surprise, they're back again!" Then the year after "Oh, guess what, beach is back with all old tokens!"

:p I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

The following prizes will be removed from Treasure Hunter:


Skilling Outfits (Normal and Elite)
Slayer Masks - these will instead be available through Shattered Worlds play
Wicked Hood Tokens - now available in the Runespan Shop for 1.5k points each
200m Coins (this has been replaced by a 50m Coin prize, but thanks to the new balancing players will be sure to net more coins in total than previously)
Brilliant Alchemist Fragments (fragments that were otherwise lying around have been converted to 250 Oddments each)
Al
l cosmetic items
except those applicable to a current promotion


How do we interpret the last line? are they talking about tokens? or something else?

anything except promotional tokens, think about rainbows end, cerberus rush etc. those tokens will stay but tokens from non promos will be gone and probs placed into the oddment store. for example the plague doctor walk is part of a promo but it was never introduced into the treasure hunter, only through the task list so that tokens doesnt get back into the treasure hunter but will be placed in the oddment store in time. thats how i understood it. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

It mentions items that are part of a set so for example felix outfit is 5 or 6 tokens to unlock the full set of samo or meow outfits and you get a discount for ea part unlocked. The thing is items like beach towel outfit is a full token unlock so most likely it will be already untradable unlocks like archon outfit/dark outfit etc for example. I need my blue charms back.

There is a separate item set rei ti ronan which is tradable so I guess they will make untradable unlocks of that in the oddment store. Edit: there is also ocean archer outfit in separate pieces thats tradable. I need my blue charms back.

I dont know,i kinda have gained faith in th tokens (which probably is unjustified).
From the th rework newspost i understand that a lot of tokens will disapear from th. You can then only get tokens from the active promotion and when that promotion is done the tokens disapear from th and as far as i understand are then placed in the oddments store.

Jagex placed items from the rare item token store in the oddments store before at a very low price when compared to how difficult it was to obtain rare item tokens. I guess now the fear is that the th tokens will also be placed in the oddments store for a very low oddment price basicly erasing all value. But if they do that then that would also devalue all promotions where tokens can be won,when they no longer have any real value because people can buy them after the promotion for cheap in the oddments store.
I dont think jagex wants to devalue tokens that much when they at the same time want to keep the tokens as part of promotions but maybe i am wrong here.

Anyway i have been buying the rainbow tokens for a 97% discount compared to their previous price as a gamble. I think it wont be that bad but maybe it will be. More should become clear in the coming week when the th update rolls out.
