My impression of the rare lists is they're no longer reliable, with no possible fix.

I'm not involved with the market anymore, just my 2 cents from a bit earlier. So, I just encourage players to not get stressed, not waste time, on fixing things.

Before Lyra and lists, we had Charm Quark posting his prices on page 1 of his thread. That gave him undue power. I don't believe he abused it, but the potential for abuse was there.

Unless you can get one of the honest merchants to host their own thread, and there are only two I'd trust to do that, I don't think the system will improve. And the community wouldn't accept such a change anyway. Also, inevitably whomever would host such a thread would be seen as corrupt. So, it would destroy that person's reputation.

At current prices, why trade a rare anyway? They're too high to buy or to sell. It's like Elon Musk trying to sell Tesla stock so he can buy up a bunch of other stocks. Too much money. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

Well, there’s always a Santa. If a person badly wants a phat, he can slowly buy some lower rares, hope they rise as fast or faster. Keep offering to buy with a stack of Santas (or something else), and if your price is good, you’ll eventually get the phat.

The potential to manipulate the market is limited. But real prices can also fluctuate, likely fluctuate more than we see. If several hats sell, real prices could fall.

I don’t see how Tuffty can create fairness in a market like this. He’s not a god. You just have to stand there with your stack of items, wait to buy, increase offer until it works. For a novice who doesn’t understand how real ratios fluctuate, doesn’t understand other aspects, it’s a recipe to get scammed or to even overpay due to a real price fluctuation.

The way to not get scammed is to spend a lot of time waiting, making offers, slowly increasing the offer. Even though I trust some merchants, I know their margins are huge in this environment. I know they can likely be wrong themselves too in this environment. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? If you want to trade, start valuing phats in Santas. Record prices in Santas over time. Gp doesn’t make sense at this point. Just what I’d do.

Eventually, gph is probably the currency. But if gph rises faster than Santa, buy Santa. Everything is a currency. That’s how the underlying real market works. Fish mask can be watched also.

I think platinum tokens could be good. I was proposing rhodium tokens in the past. I think I wanted them at 1b each. Santas and gold phats will be the default.

You need a ge for the old system to work, and you might need a more active market also.

I was just angry a legit trade by a known merch was labeled manip like a year ago. I lost faith seeing that play out. I completely lost faith then. But the old system was amazing.

Anyway, I mean I’m happy. It doesn’t affect me if things change. Margins are just bigger for merchants now. I’m not really in the game anymore, just used to be really into it. Regarding fraud though: In a real market, especially one with few trades, prices are not stable. So, I was just annoyed then (last year) that a surprise change was labeled fake. The change was real. Crazy prices do happen in a market. Clarification: it wasn’t my trade labeled as bad.

I was really into rquark because I liked seeing the system work. Also, over time things just work differently, likely.

But I mean I’m out of that market now. So, it’s nothing to do with me. I hope things work out. I’ll likely comment on rares less. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

Elon Musk is really going to make Twitter profitable. I’m not talking about political bias one way or another: His suggestions are good. Why aren’t people like him running more corporations? It’s like promotions boost the wrong people.
