When phats crashed in the past, yellow was still above purple. And what is surprising is so many yellows were sold that yellow fell below purple, and stayed lower for some period before recovering. Yellow bottomed at 600, purple at 650, green was maybe 760 ish at bottom. Blue never fell into the Ge. 3x purple was a blue maybe a month later, as my fuzzy memory recalls. So, these price ratios get crazy; they change and change back, during panics.

Purple and yellow fell more than did other phats, as a percentage. What does that mean today? It means anything can happen. If some 12 yr old hoarder with 200 Santa’s starts selling them into the GE, he could break all the reasonable offers. Maybe 200 isn’t enough; maybe 400, 600. Whales exist. Maybe few today are 12, but kids inherit.

However, after the panic, prices recover.

As they go up, many will expect them to fall again. They won’t rebuy, will be priced out. If you like rares, it’s better to be stuck with one than to be priced out of them for good. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

As a former forums user, it's sad that RS forums and item discussion threads were once used by a large percentage of the playerbase and then some members of the forum moderation team ran it down the drain with their ego.

My point will be proven when a fmod that everyone knows and loves removes this post in a "discussion" thread. There's not even a forum moderation review for this old fmod running rampant.

Always happy to help revitalize this dump if a Jagex Mod would like to listen to suggestions again. Mod Poerkie was on the verge of bringing back traffic here, but then whoever stepped in with recently alongside a specific FMod reversed all the changes.

Now nobody uses Forums anymore, SoF/TH and High Level Weapons threads are just such a sad sight.

imo im happy they kinda cleaned up the place in the past years, were all human so im sure mistakes were made. but ive seen alot of good things too, scammers and flaming players who got muted for their childish behavior, people who cant find their way on the forums getting help to the right direction, sometimes i felt surprised if my post would get removed but i could just ask why it got removed and i got good feedback from that. and ofcourse discussions can get hot sometimes but mods dont have to interfere as long as its a civil discussion without naming or flaming individuals. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

I haven’t paid close attention to when Jagex will make changes, but I really like all of the rares at these prices. Some claim newer rares are not discontinued. I dunno. But people will always pursue discontinued items.

There’s a risk that Jagex does rerelease or makes them untradeable. Rich hoarders might be cashing out, fearing a rerelease. So, no one can predict the bottom.

I have seen a crash like this before. If you can afford it, you should buy a rare. You might never again get a chance to own one at these prices. Possibly wait until the day the GE is updated, to buy at a true market price, without manipulation.

Many selling their rares now will be unable to rebuy. Others will pay more than the bottom price. If you like rares, it maybe shouldn’t matter if they fall, but you could get sick seeing Santa fall to 2b after buying, or to any price really. Anything can happen, but I expect a rocket up after bottom is hit.

Maybe the strategy is to encourage fansites and social media to promote RS community externally, outside of Jagex websites.

Would love a forum refresh, but it may be a huge investment that may not add the most value. Could invest elsewhere like game development, social media, or even M&A

Jagex made their first acquisition in the last few days. Anyone see that? Super exciting.

With Wildy update this coming Monday...

Wonder what will go up/down - some things will be newly dropped in wild - but I'm also wondering how much players will be going there to get those drops.. will the wild t82 2h weapons decrease/increase? interesting

I think the tier87 weapons will drop in price if players actively are going to farm them. i wonder if those new reaper scrolls will affect the hydrix stuff.
