really happy this sticky is here to stay then!. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

Blue will be 250b by the end of next year, unless Jagex rereleases, which I guess they could do. It doesn't currently look like they will. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

I have got a quick question about non party hat rare discontinued items, with this new change to the GE we are seeing a drastic drop in price of certain rare items (Red Santa, Hween set). Would it be wise to wait out the crash before buying any of these or would it be beneficial to grab some up? I just can't trust this runescape market to not be manipulated to some extent and have no idea when or where things will rise or fall.

Maybe this isn't the place to ask, if not, please remove my post!

a good question deserves a good answer i believe,

the answer is simple: do alot of research and make your own choice in this matter. its better to decide for yourself than listen to someone else who might have a hidden motive to make you buy x item.

i cant really give you advice because i cant promise its 100% in your best interest when it comes to all time low/back to peaking in prices, so its up to you what you want to pay for an item and ask that price.(ofcourse no1 will sell a phat for 1 gp so keep it realistic).

So my advice is to not request advice but instead research yourself and pay the price you want to buy or sell the item for. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

I know people don't enjoy questions like this. I have done some, if not a lot of research but I'm just not well versed in the Runescape Rare market. Just now getting my feet wet. Coming to the experts was part of my research. Can't hurt to ask right?

Currently, rares are said to be dead weight. They could fall further. However, at some point they bottom. And, unless Jagex rereleases, they will rocket upwards, someday.

I haven’t paid close attention to when Jagex will make changes, but I really like all of the rares at these prices. Some claim newer rares are not discontinued. I dunno. But people will always pursue discontinued items.

There’s a risk that Jagex does rerelease or makes them untradeable. Rich hoarders might be cashing out, fearing a rerelease. So, no one can predict the bottom.

I have seen a crash like this before. If you can afford it, you should buy a rare. You might never again get a chance to own one at these prices. Possibly wait until the day the GE is updated, to buy at a true market price, without manipulation.

Many selling their rares now will be unable to rebuy. Others will pay more than the bottom price. If you like rares, it maybe shouldn’t matter if they fall, but you could get sick seeing Santa fall to 2b after buying, or to any price really.
