I still remember the time I got my first P-Hat. Was a Red for 9m Around early November 2005. Did a shed load of Fletching and alching Yew long bows and Magic short bows. Made millions.

Purple Paid 22-23m (Start of 2006)
Yellow Paid 24m (Start of 2006)
Green Paid 24m (Start of 2006)
Red Paid 9m (Early November 2005)
White Paid 11m (Early November 2005)
Blue Paid 12m (Early November 2005)

They were the rough prices from November 2005 to January 2006. I got Red first and built up to Blue then headed back to Purple, Yellow and Green. I needed the Blue as I liked the colour better.

Rares these days are out of reach of the normal few hours a week player. Tokens are there for the taking really. I have some but do not want to keep a lot. Not my thing today. Rather use GP for other things which are top secret lol.

I bought my first phat around the time black santas were released, a purple for 1b, it was a childhood dream and not something I thought would be a good investment. Partly because back then phat prices weren't as linear as they are today and crashes did occur.
The market today is in a weird spot atm, you would've doubled or tripled your bank if you bought bis a year ago, it's not just rares.
And it's not like party hats are the only rares, there are plenty of lower rares that players can work towards, and those who play a lot can strive for a party hat.

I don't mind them releasing a new discontinued item like that of bsh/scythe/wreath, it brings something new and exciting. But I don't think tokens can ever be that since they are consumables and there are a lot of different ones released all the time.
The system where they rerelease old tokens in the oddments store works great imo. That way there's still some exclusivity and if you really want it you can spend oddments on it after 1-2 years.

I bought my first partyhat (purple) in 2011 for 915m.

I won a Christmas Scythe when they did the event to introduce them into the game. I remember selling it right away for around 120m. I like the idea of having new discontinued items occasionally. I personally do not appreciate the new "rares" as much (BSH, Scythe. etc.) as the original discontinued items, but I still like the idea of new discontinued items. I like the way they did the scythe/bsh.

I think it'd be good to release new at some point, just to include new players in that excitement. Maybe they're figuring tokens out lately with oddment store if just unlocks. I don't like that I bet wrong on the changes, but I mean if the ultimate system works, then it's good.

What happens currently with alts is people have hundreds or even thousands of alts they log into daily or once a week. They accumulate oddments and keys and then use them on TH to make billions.

Earhart's ice cubes were an attempt around that, but they needed to be replaced with a new item to get around the alt armies. Otherwise, alts can eventually win enough on each alt.

If becoming fully transparent about events, like say that a neo-ice cube will return a set number of times (maybe twice per year) for, say, 3 years, then it would work well I think. Alt armies couldn't hope to get many from just dailies.

It's an odd thing when you're trying to figure how to profit in a game like this, and the answer is to make 1k alts, then log in once a day.

Alts are also used to bypass buying limits, which can still be profitable for cheap tokens. So, a single player might buy 20k of a token, or 130k, etc. Most tokens I think don't even have that much supply. I think it's better to reward regular players who have only 1 main and possibly a few alts. (I have 1 alt.)

What's fascinating also is there's no attempt at hiding such alt armies. They're perfectly legal, and the people using them are open and honest about it. That's become runescape.

Mobile apparently even made it easier to log into alts. The previous beach event hindered alts, because it took too long to move each one to the shop location. You can imagine, if you're logging into 2000 accounts, spending 5 minutes on each one, there's a limit to how much you can do in just a few days. 12 accounts an hour. 40 hours in a week, that's just 480 accounts in a week.

I like how they introduced the Christmas Scythe into the game:

"5,000 were slowly released in game during the event, with 250 released each day for 14 days and an additional 750 released at the end of each week for 2 weeks."

There was a cap on how many entered the game, regardless of what means people did to try and obtain them. I also like how we were given the information on how many were released into the game. Lastly, I like how it was released during a holiday, just like the original discontinued items.

Hey good people.
Long story short, I'm selling some rares so I get a lot of messages.
So my question is, am I allowed to write who tried scamming me just now?
Don't worry, I reported him immediately but I'd like for people to know too so they can stay away from the person.
All the best.
Edit: Looks like a staker account.

Personally i wouldnt mind or care so i would say do whatever you feel like.

But the forum rules do state no naming or shaming or accusing others of doing something that could derail the thread (or something like that). so it depends on you if you feel like its worth the time to say/show.
trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.
