I have posted the following to the Forum review thread and thought it might be good for all of us to discuss what the right course of action might be for future.
Here is how I believe we can restore faith in price check threads, and it is merely my opinion. Please feel free to give inputs without hostility towards anyone.
1) We need to take the control of Price check threads from individuals/Friends chats to
END MONOPOLISATION OF PRICE CHECKING
, and give the post to more responsible people, i.e the Jmods/Forum mods. I don't understand why people should have exclusivity to post a certain thread, when they can clearly have conflicts of interest(Advertising FCs) and are not even capable of monitoring or moderating their thread. We need to rely on forum mods for that anyhow.
Why shouldn't Forum mods or Jmods have pinned threads on top?
This would inspire more confidence in the community to take these threads more seriously.
2) There should be no posts allowed that are discussions of the items or advertisements of any FC/clan. It should be strictly only for reporting sales/purchases based on thread rules.
3) The rules of submission for price check thread should be as follows-
a) No anonymous submission will be accepted without name of both the seller and buyer.
b) You cannot submit on behalf of someone else, and need to be one of the parties involved in trade.
c) Every trade should have a screenshot proof with 2nd trade accepted or GE screenshot with ingame date and clock.
d) Trades which involve items should mention only the items, and not perceived values of those items at the time the trade took place.
e) Trades can only be reported if they are not older than 48 hours.
f) No price ranges can be posted by anyone, unless it's a compilation of recorded sales, and nothing more.
I believe this will save the price check threads and restore faith of the community in them.
