e) Trades can only be reported if they are not older than 48 hours.

Surprised.

I would suggest allowing a slightly longer timeframe to allow for trades to be reported, provided the screenshot of the trade shows the in game date and time. With very few partyhat trades being reported, I wouldn't want real trades to be deleted just because they are 3-4 days old. Otherwise, I agree with the points that you have made and I think that this would be a great step forward to preventing price manipulation.

The only reason I suggest not reporting older trades is so that we incentivise people for reporting trades as and when they happen, not when it suits them. In my view 2-3 days variance is a period good enough for flippers/merchers but I see your point. As long as dates are explicitly mention in the post as well as screenshot..

The price ranges being disallowed/banned on forums is a necessary step for the above to work.

We're doomed. It's been like this for years and will stay like this for even more years apparently. Rank #56 Overall. 8000/1****? Hard caskets stacked. 7000/8****? Elite caskets stacked.

Would you trust a Price-checking service that has bots running in W2 advertising themselves constantly? I wouldn't!

Love me some irony...

Ofc i support this thread. But while we do need to change the format of the price checking thread itself, as ive said in the past we need new guidelines for moderation.

We can't have mods silencing everyone that is calling out manipulation, only selectively silencing manipulators, saying they care about manipulation and the glorious "do your own research", all while wishing fairwell and saying "we'll miss you" to one of the biggest manipulators on the forums when claiming to quit.

Once again I encourage anyone that hasn't already to check out Price Check & Trade / SuityBot on Discord, because until the moderation team is changed or given new guidelines here on the forums I really don't see the forums improving much.

Sure, we can come together just as players and a community to improve it, but isnt that what Discord is? Suity has constant communication with us and is always improving and trying new ways to inhibit manipulators and provide accurate price checks.

Tuffty
, you have told me privately that my only option is to make a forum thread about moderation changes, and hope that Jagex sees it and decides to implement it. Could you also do the same? You definitely have a closer connection to Jagex than any of us do. If you care about manipulation and the longevity of the forums I hope you've been reaching out to them and raising the issue like the rest of us have.

I agree and disagree both, Soulsplits. I think Fmods are absolute necessity.

Here's why -

I agree we should be allowed to dispute people's trades, but the rule should be that the person disputing can only state the issue, and not flame the person reporting. People should only be allowed to dispute a trade within certain guidelines - Moreover the person whose trade has been disputed cannot respond with anything other than extra evidence or proof that made the trade dubious, in first place.

Here's why I disagree -
If we did not have forum moderation, and Tuffty, forums would soon become as toxic as 4chan, where everyone would be disputing everyone for the mere sake of it, which would then turn into a flame fest... There's many people who would love to see forums heading that way, especially the Pc "friends chats"

The only way to fix this is to fix the issue that allows these mosquitoes to breed. When you're trying to control malaria, you don't start shooting people who have the disease, you kill the mosquitoes, and you make it impossible for them to breed.

I love the effort Jmods put into the game with how severely under resourced they are, and how much less the investors and the people are top are willing to care about community or customer support.
When I think about what you said a quote comes to mind.

I'm not trying to say that we should ditch moderation or remove mods like Tuffty. I'm saying that Jagex needs new guidelines for moderators in regards to handling forum price manipulation. I've talked to Tuffty and a couple of other mods privately in game and they all say there is nothing they can do about manipulators. They CAN silence us for calling out manipulators because its against the rules to make a post targeting a player, but they CANNOT silence an actual manipulator unless its super super obvious, but 90% of the manipulators can post un-touched. So all I am saying is we would need better moderation, not no moderation.

100% agree on that.
