@H willms

You could call Phats, Santa’s, h’weens, edibles Etc original discontinued items then. The reason why I am not interested in the new discontinued items is because one of their counterparts has already been re-released/they are linked to treasure hunter, making them possibly not discontinued. I am stating the reason why I personally dont put money in them, and I am sure there are some other people not interested in them for the same reason I have. We can all probably agree wreaths are undervalued for their rare numbers in game and I was providing a reason why some people dont have as much interest in them compared to the original discontinued items.

I find it very interesting that pumpkins are the ONLY rare right now that have not surpassed its previous record high price set in 2017. The record sale for a pumpkin in 2017 is 1450m. The pumpkin is still several hundred million away from surpassing this. Anyone have any speculation as to why this is? It would be a different story if we had several rares lingering back under their record sales but the pumpkin is the only one lagging behind. It surprises me because edibles have relatively low volume to hoard.

Supposedly, there's a wall below 1300m in ge, for pumpkin.

Also, Hitman is selling 150 in forums. So, whether pumpkin goes up seems to depend on Hitman.

Okay, in regards to the discussion about how the rares were dropped back in 2003, I can confirm that it wasn't manually done, at least for bunny ears. My experience was that I was in the wilderness at the time when bunny ears were dropped, when suddenly I saw the screen filled with maybe 10 bunny ears spawned on the ground, and I saw more lying on the ground as I kept walking. It doesn't make sense that a Jmod would manually spawn them just for me as I was 100% alone, IN THE WILDERNESS.

Sadly, that was my first and only experience and I don't think I played RS on the day christmas scythes were dropped as I was just a kid and didn't read any Jagex news/forums and didn't have awareness of previous events like that (and definitely didn't have any idea of hoarding/manipulating prices)

I don't believe there is even enough GP available to buy out all the rares at these insane prices if they were all sold at once. most people have the view, since there's just a small amount of rares available in-game they can be bought out, take them out of the market and with a little bit of manip players will pay more and the price rises. they are only partially right since they don't have the exact numbers of rares in-game to confirm their theory. the higher they go more riskier it gets you only need a catalyst for fear and the panic selling will commence, like a returning player with 3k+ phats or something similar unprecedented which is always a possibility and out of people's control. I have heard players say there is an influx of GP coming into the game which is leading to inflation and causing the rares to rise. But from what i remember a mod said a while back, were in deflation. these are just assumptions can't really know unless we have data but it's still fun to think about. The superior man thinks of virtue; the small man thinks of comfort.

RARE T0KEN,

rares still go up over time, probably even without inflation.

The primary case for why rares should go up seems to be: The Dupe. Also, rares have been low since 2017.
