I see wreath rising quite a bit really soon actually, for a few reasons:

It is the rarest discontinued item in the game.
It is extremely undervalued.
It has only risen since release and has done so steadily.
Other lower rares have gone absolutely insane and many are seriously overvalued (santas, masks and edibles) and are due for a crash.

Once people start dumping their hoards of lowers they will have to reinvest somewhere. I think holly wreaths will be a good bet.

The way I see it the only rares that aren't over valued are scythes, wreaths, BSH and party hats.

Edit: Only reason for their slow increase (relative to scythes) is because they are extremely low volume because of their scarcity and because people are investing heavily into GE rares. Once people start trying to buy them up the price will skyrocket because of the short supply and we'll see something like what happened with half jug.

The fact that we know the number of wreaths in game makes this item interesting. We know it is rare. I do think what hurts the wreath from being extremely expensive is the small chance of a re-release and it not being aesthetically pleasing. I personally do not touch, nor am I interested in the "new rares". The fact that rubber turkeys had a treasure hunter re-release has always made me loose interest in BSH, wreath and scythe. Although I find it unlikely that Jagex would re-release such an expensive item that would destroy peoples banks, it will always be a possibility since these items were released/linked to micro-transactions. Look what happened to Le Me, he lost billions from the rubber turkey re-release. Jagex likes money and maybe they wont care about peoples banks when considering re-releasing the treasure hunter promo like they did for rubber turkeys. I do agree it is undervalued and maybe some other people dont invest in them for the reason I dont.

I don't think it's fair to compare wreaths, BSH and scythes to the rubber turkey because:

A: Rubber turkeys were not rare at all (I was doing the event on my alts and I got 5 of them)
B: They were not worth nearly as much (they were only a couple million when they re-released
C: If they were going to re-release these items they would have done so at the same time as rubber turkeys

I think rubber turkey was more like the fish mask, crab hat etc. rather than an actual discontinued item. I don't see how a re-release of wreaths is any more likely than a re-release of party hats lol.

edit: I do not agree that wreaths aren't aesthetically pleasing... IMO they look really nice. Same goes for Scythes.

The reason why a re-release will be more possible than partyhats is because they are all "new rares". We knew the exact number of rubber turkeys that entered the game just like we do with the wreath and scythe. They are microtransaction rares. Partyhats are not microtransaction rares and we werent given their release numbers. You will see a re-release of the "new rares" before you see a re-release of the true rares.

They were not "micro transaction" rares. You did the event and you got presents, you opened them and you got rares or a glowing cracker which had a very small chance of giving you a wreath. They were not rewards from TH (although you could win some snow from TH and use that to get more presents)

lol "true rares"... rare is rare. Fact is that wreaths are more rare than any party hat... That being said rarity does not equal price or desirability. Even if the number of wreaths doubled they still would be more rare than any party hat.

There is nothing stopping Jagex from re-releasing any discontinued item. They can do whatever they want. After the negative reaction from the re-release of rubber turkeys, I doubt they will re-release any discontinued item again...

Yes I know you couldnt directly win them from TH but you could indirectly. If you bought keys, you had more chances to get rares than the normal player, therefore they are linked to microtransactions. I truly hope they dont release any of the new rares or any rare for that matter. I think there would be a better chance of a new rare before a re-release.

Without coming across as brash or abrasive, I think your dismissive attitude toward the term “true rares” needs to be corrected. You ignore the reality that while wreaths may be fewer in numbers, a true rare is not only rare in availability. The “true rares” (phats, Santa’s h’weens Etc) have spent 20 years symbolizing prestige, wealth, exclusivity that certifies a player had moved up in the world. They are classics. Jagex could release some new item tomorrow that there are only 5 of, maybe a ugly black t shirt with no appeal to it. It would have a big price tag but it wouldn’t captivate the entire RuneScape player base the way a party hat or Santa does.
