Very similar to how most will judge my opinion based off of my avatar picture, consider reading it twice regardless if you’re “wealthy & powerful” or a “meaningless peasant”
This Gold Partyhat release is GOOD. It will make majority of RuneScape players extremely happy. However, like with many things in RuneScape (and in life) there’s levels to this $h!t. For example, players enjoy their level 99 skillcapes in whatever they earned it in but hate the grind it takes to achieve that almighty 120 skillcape. Once you achieve & put on that 120 skillcape you are instantly on a higher level of respect and sense of accomplishment than those with the same wearing 99 skillcapes.
Everyone will enjoy their level 99 golden party hat. Not everyone will enjoy the level 120 party hats.
At the end of the day, this is simply an online game. Don’t be so hard on yourself

Hmm not to throw rocks but not sure if I agree with this logic though. The gold phat imo is the best looking phat just like how black santa is better looking than red santa due to it looking like a black beanie, the gold phat is an actual crown almost. It would certainly devalue phats. I mean it is a real discontinued phat, just a better looking color! Gold is the ultimate color in every video game for weapons, cosmetics, etc.
Personally I have 0 motivation to go for other colored phats now. I would rather prioritize other things like trimmed comp cape to match my Gphat and dyes to complete fashionscape. I think it will likely increase the prices of dyes as people will prioritize it more than hats.
In regards to the rarity argument some people say the number of rares impact the prices - I don't think this is true. Aesthetics has a factor too and ultimately drive the price. If there was only 10 fish masks in the game I don't see how that's even a flex when it's so ugly. I wouldn't even want it for 1 gp haha - hey but to each their own right?
