So you're saying your friend is getting 50 hats so far? that's like 500 hours? 3 weeks of fully working with no sleep.

Yup, that definitely sounds legit.

So what you're saying is because you haven't personally seen it - that means it's not happening and isn't a huge issue? Outstanding logic.
Would you mind turning a blind eye to Climate Change and World Hunger so those issues can just disappear too?

I didn't say 50 so far - I said they are on track to get over 100 between them before the end of the event. There is still another month to go.

Now let's get 50 hats in less than 500 hours, per method:
1. Host: Instant
2. Quests: 30 minutes
3. Combat: 4 hours*
4. Gathering: 4 hours*
5. Artisan: 4 hours*
6. Support: 4 hours*
7. Gold: Instant
8. Yak Track: Passive whilst doing other activities

*Approximate time based on what people have been reporting online. Can often be a lot quicker, and sometimes a lot slower.

Total time taken: 16hrs 30 minutes. You'd be right then in saying that 500 hours is not achievable. However, don't forget that it's very easy to play on multiple accounts at once - especially given all of the above methods can be afk (except Support really)

For 50 hats:
1 account at once: 825 hours
2 accounts at once: 412.5 hours
3 accounts at once: 275 hours
4 accounts at once: 206 hours
5 accounts at once: 165 hours

...see where I'm going with this?

To correct the numbers, since he actually showed me 25 a few days ago. Not sure where you pulled the number 50 from:

1 account: 412 hours
2 accounts: 206 hours
3 accounts: 137 hours
4 accounts: 103 hours
5 accounts: 82.5 hours

It's very easy for a casual player to play for 82.5hrs since 22nd November.

You never see anyone wearing a Bronze full helm, but that's not to say there aren't 'ALOT ingame'...?

I don't mind Atlantis. He posts a contrarian view to superimpose the opposite view onto thread reader's minds. When he says there'll be 10,000 at the end, he's reinforcing to readers there will be way more. It's a performative argument and it's entertaining. It's a nice cop out for someone who is only confident in their macroeconomic predictions, though it does expose the details are beyond him.

Well I hope Jagex at least learns their lesson from this event regarding future discontinued rares. It was a nice thought to let newer and lower-levelled players have access to the event, but I feel if they do a 'Golden Halloween Mask' event or something similar in the future there clearly needs to be some requirements to partake in the event. Perhaps a 1500 skill total or something around there? This event is quickly turning into 'how many alts can I run at once' and as usual maximum efficiency poopsockers ruin yet another piece of game content.

I farmed over a dozen phats on alts. Made some GP on flips but ultimately I like collecting rares 'this case future rares'. I look at people farming even more than me for GP as doing a service for new/late players who can't get theirs now. Its cool content I think and gives a lot of payers the opportunity to own a semi valuable partyhat on the main game. It'll even itself out though, as price goes down itll be tougher for some to bond alts or pay for the 30M shard bringing less hats in the game. It also gets a bit boring farming, I did 14 hats and im done with it.


Another note on perspective from someone whose had multiple 'original' parthats. This is some players first opportunity at actually owning a partyhat. To be honest it can be for some people a bit of a let down? Not that its golden or subjective reasons but for some I've known that have gotten their first red or green partyhat they realize a week or so after that its kinda meh and a lot of GP on a pixel paper hat. I think a lot of hats will be sold on just that aspect. But like I said it'll even out. Hats at say 200m a mercher with an easy 20B can pick up a hundred. This ties in with my earlier comments that price ties with supply and demand. But supply >< always total number of hats in game.

Back when BSH came out I wasn't able to get one during the event either. I ended up buying 2 at 200m each. My only regret was selling 1 BSH after a few years for about 900m.

Now Look at it... I never imagined it would get this high. IF you have the money and can catch this on a dip I would buy and hold. Great long term investment, especially if your inactive. I give it two years and it'll be over 1 billion.
