Shards seem very rare to get skilling shards take 2+ hours to get a single piece but there should be more entering the game once yak track comes. Majority of phats produced will come from premier club members. I need my blue charms back.

Interesting item. Could be a benchmark for future items to enter the game. Appears to be an equal amount of promotion and gameplay to get it.

Not sure how I feel about a new partyhat overall...

I believe @Yo Blue above has the correct take here.. during the event we will see the price drop dramatically and many players sell the hat to upgrade gear and buy bonds for membership.

Overall curious to see how this plays out.

According to some posters on Reddit (yes, Reddit posters lol) it's taken one player over three hours chopping ivy, to no avail -- alongside another player finally collecting one after three hours pickpocketing bandits. Then, another player receiving one within seconds after starting crafting.

The drop rate certainly seems to be quite random, speculated as pet rates, and if I was to guess, the higher level of requirement for the activity you're performing alongside how intensely you're focused on the method (i.e. clicks), that would yield a shard to a faster result.. in my opinion from everything I'm seeing, thus-far.

Though available to essentially everyone with forty-plus days to obtain one, maybe the golden hats will be a bit more uncommon than originally speculated. It might've been the other way around if the shards themselves were also tradable to where players could just shell out their shards to their friends/streamers. But, alas.

Either way, I'm interested to see what next week's patch notes or an upcoming hotfix is brought on to these drop rates if they're mistakenly harder to receive than intended :P .

I doubt he'd accept low quality paper hats when he can have high resolution shiny one.
