Gphat may also be dropping atm, not only in trend with the lower rares crashing, but also because of players liquidating some of their Gphat stash to buy lower rares whilst they’re at this crashed price (Weens, RSH etc). Once lowers start to turn around I can see Gphat and GSH turning around also.

Good point. I know I've done exactly that (a bit of rebalancing). During the most recent rare market rise, we've seen lower rares rise 100 - 150%. Golden partyhats, however, rose around 33%.

Past performance isn't indicative of future performance, however. Longer term, I'm still very bullish on Golden Partyhats. I think they have the potential to be a great currency, and "stepping stone item" as rares continue to trend upwards in the future. Perhaps, Golden Partyhats might be the "best bet", the "worst bet" among rares...or somewhere in between. Time will tell.

Scythe and partyhats have a factor 50 inflation when compared to 2012 but maybe its wrong to directly compare this with the GPH.
Scythe right after it came out is comparable to GPH right after it has come out. An item where the holdings are spread out amongst many players.
Scythe did rise 50 fold not only because of inflation but also because the supply got more concentrated and slowly became inactive.

Inflation for other items since 2012 i would arbitrary guess at around 10. For example when look at the value of dyes, the most expensive 3rd age , the most expensive weapon etcetera.

So GPH at release could be 10 times as expensive as scythe at release, corrected for rarity.
Scythe at release 50m (little bit below). Times 10 is 500m and then devided by 20 would give 25m as a value for GPH.

Am probably missing something obvious as the price is way higher but i am not sure what lol.

Soon i guess, its in free fall.
Dip below 200 for 1-3 days and then back up above 200.

My worst investment ever lol, even though it is rather minimal when looking at the overall picture.

What will jagex do with christmass. More useless rare items?
At one point there is nothing left to squeeze from the playerbase. Bonds have gone up while rares went down. Less and less people buying bonds to sell them ingame? Or just a return to the mean value?

The game needs a major overhaul to revive but i dont see that happening anymore.
There has to be something fun but the intricate combat system prevents any development in that direction. So it will remain a niche game.

Combine osrs with rs3. Do away with the rs3 combat system. Keep some of the quality of life improvements from rs3. Don't bring over any of the "rares" from osrs since they're so watered down. There is your influx of player base and game changed for the greater good.

Oh and what's up with the gph and all other rares dropping so hard in price?

I mean I did say that it’ll hit 225 when they first came out didn’t I? “noobs” cried n argued about it. I a also said that it’ll hit 150M. As for old rares they will also crash harshly due to overinflated prices. But yea expect the gold partyhats to hit 100s in the near future

It could recover to 150m or even go higher. Noone knows it will hit 100s.
