because change happens no matter what. doesn't matter if a small group of players don't like something. if jagex wants to bring back old holiday rewards, then they'll do it. it's not going to kill anyone and if it makes people leave the game well that's just sad imo. leaving a game over something so little is just dumb.
Yes just like leaving the game over a cb system change is too to some ppl.
So no, lost ppl equals lost revenue thus less money for jagex.
So of course theyd want to try and keep as many ppl happy as long as possible.
They wont rerelease rares like gold partyhat they confirmed this 1 is permanately discontinued. green santa is not discontinued. In rs3 everyone is maxed and no new players are coming in.
I need my blue charms back.

Yes just like they said they wouldnt rerelease any tradeable rares, yet here we are.
So why are you taking their word as gospel?
They can and have gone back on their word so this isnt anything different.

Oh man, you are in for a big disappointment. Let me remind you and everybody how a company operates (a very brief explanation as I don't have the whole afternoon for this)
1- The company whole purpose is to make money selling a product or a service.
2- In order to operate they need people they call "employees".
2- Employees can (and most certainly will) leave the company at any given time.
3- The company has to hire new people to continue operating (
surprising! I know! Who would have thought?
)
4- This new workforce can (and most certainly will) have new ideas to implement.
5- Investors demand profitability as they need to maintain a wealthy lifestyle in real life (you know? the one that matters? ring a bell?)
6- C-Level executives (the "big wigs" of the company) are normally paid bonus to hit metrics and they normally do anything they can to hit them by year end (bonus is normally calculated from January to December
understand why golden phat and santa hat were released in December?)
This class is free. The next one I should probably start charging a fee...

In theory.
Rares are too high currently. They had to do something. Releasing new rares makes sense. Rwt seems to be causing Jagex problems. Cheaper rares means fewer problems. It’s possible they eventually just make rares untradeable. It could become too much of a legal issue.
We could also see data lost again; though they’ve probably reduced that risk.
Jagex seems to be trying to give players what they want. Players wanted cheap tokens and new rares, or it had seemed they wanted such.
I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

When people discuss how jagex is running their business and there is that one braindead clown who needs to say "It's a for profit business. They need to make money".
Like, wow amazing. Who would've ever thought that these promos were meant for profit.

can you sit there and actually tell me 5 reasons how rereleasing old holiday rewards would negatively impact the game and the players. because i can bet you if people did quit over some cosmetics (which is really stupid mind you) would be far less than when the combat rework was introduced. if you love a game, you stick with it no matter what. i've never "quit" or "took a break" from this game since i started in 08. and when i say old rewards obviously i don't mean tradable rares. please, i'd love to hear the 5 reasons (good ones mind you) that rereleasing old holiday rewards would completely ruin this game. i'll wait.

Genius
Yeah, right? Specially when there is an even more braindead person saying "tHey wiLl nEver rEreLeAse raRes AgAiN! oR I wiLl sToP PlAyiNg"
It is funny to think of some people actually hoarding rares like Gollum from Lord of the Rings (
"My Precious!"
LOL). But we live in a society where facts are criticized as braindead and pulling information from a place with no light is "common sense" lmao

It does not negatively impact the game. But certain players like hoarding items to think themselves as superior than others (you can see some blue phat dude with low self-steem in the Gold Phat discussion thread saying people with no phat/rares are peasants LOL, like this guy really thinks he is somebody because he has lived in the game 24/7 for the past 10 years)
You mentioned a valid and strong point. EOC was the most epic change we have seen so far and look where the game is now. Real players will stay to play. Out of the 100 people that say "I will quit over a very stupid reason", only 50 will leave, and maybe 10 will actually end up quitting for good. The rest will come back in a few months when they realize they are so addicted to the game and possibly don't have much to do irl because for the past decade they have been building their little "fantasy safe place" here.
