So yeah we are getting a Green Santa and seems like it'll be released sort of the same way as the Black Santa was released.
Not sure what to think of this cause we literally just got a Golden Phat and now this. At this rate we will receive too many newer rares. I just hope this is only because it's 20 year anniversary!!
Nonetheless I always like the hype that comes with stuff like this and the chance of earning one is fun as well. I don’t think they’ll release more for awhile.
Rares are super expensive; so, it’s good to release new ones. If it were me, I’d release new ones regularly, much better than tokens.
A valid criticism might be there are too many gold phats though. But it’s great to include new people. Everyone can have exclusive rares now. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

My speculation on the re releasing of older christmas stuff is that it will be christmas tokens. I only say this because of Jagex recently rereleasing the zombie walk token and then flooding the market with rainbow items/tokens. Rereleasing tokens seems to be the direction that Jagex is taking. I would bet money that the green santa hat will be more rare than the gold partyhat since any account can make a gold partyhat.
Also, as far as those concerned about Jagex releasing "too many" rares, I don't see the issue here. I started playing way back before bunny ears were released. Pumpkins were released Oct 2001, christmas cracker Dec 2001, easter egg Apr 2002, halloween masks Oct 2002, and santa hats Dec 2002. All of those were released in that amount of time before Jagex decided to make untradeable rares. There were no issues with that many rares in that timespan back then. If anything the more rares the better since there is so much gp in the game as this is a means of storing gp. Having a gold partyhat and a green santa hat this month is like the equivalent of halloween masks and santa hats released in 2002. Instead of us getting a discontinued rare in Oct and Dec like in 2002 we are getting 2 in Dec this year. It is very good, but I hope they are low supply. It’s just fun to have low supply.
