I hope so, I would of rather an update like this than what time was spent on EoC

Imagine a more open huge world. Full of random small villages and activities. They could really of expanded RuneScape.

Imagine convoys going through paths.

Nice nature and rare pet chances. (imagine a rare squirel or something to randomly appear)

Random ruins and space for new dungeons to appear.

Random NPC setting up camps. (Think Red Dead Redemtion)

It has the potential to be an actual living world.

-

All of this above, should of been RuneScape 3.

Concidering they fix the EoC aftermath.

Yeah, I'd really like the map to be spaced out a bit. Jagex has really committed to the small map by putting most monsters in dungeons and caves, whereas in most other MMO's, the monsters are on the main level, in between cites. I guess it's debatable which is better - dungeons are useful for getting to the monster you want to kill quickly, but a larger map with monsters in between the cities would feel more organic.

That said, one of the best things about Runescape is that nearly every building is there for a reason - there is no fluff architecture to make a city look larger than it needs to be. I guess I'd like the cities to remain the same size, but space them out a bit, and then if they need to expand the cities, they can.

I think Diablo II was the first to release Waypoints, which are pretty much the same as the Lodestones that RuneScape has. The good thing about these are that you have to make the travel at least once to activate them.

Quite a few players mention it should be x2 or x3 the distance, I disagree. We shouldn't just pick a multiplier and go for that. We should go for what feels right and creates enough space for future content to be placed in.

Remember all the suggestions about day and night cycles? What if the game is big enough to create timezones, seasons and a northern- and southern hemisphere. I might be thinking huge here, but that would make an amazing game ;)

I think this is what RuneScape needs and if it were done right you might actually start pulling quite a lot of gamers away from competing gaming companies.

I think they were going to add day/night, as well as weather, but that too seems to be lost. I believe it's in queue behind F2P highscores, the addition of 3 ability bars, the 2 new skills, and so on and so forth :P

I hope it does come before Sailing though!

I think the Battle of Lumbridge is setting the stage for the sort of scaling up that might happen in the distant future. Adding new buildings and NPCs will make all of the cities far larger and more complex, and then the spaces in between will be filled in with more dungeons and true forests, hills and mountains. Maybe even more mining spots outdoors, like the Al Kharid mines? That would be kind of cool! :) Notice that after Tutorial Island disappeared, the Wizards' Tower got a major expansion! That's probably the same way the map will be expanded; a little bit at a time. [Graphics] Drivers Wanted.
