I feel it's unnecessary and a waste of resources, also, if they don't bring back a lot of players, the worlds will seem super empty.
Also, we can basically teleport everywhere that we want to now, so people would barely see the new expanded areas anyway

I see it as all the more reason to make it larger because of the lodestone network and the many teleports. Make them more valued. Make them give you that feeling you use to get like. Wow i'm happy i have my glory, now i don't have to make that walk from a lodestone. we don't have that right now because teleport locations are to bunched up. Why use a glory when your 10 steps away with a lodestone. Magical teleports are also in the same boat and especially land fairy rings
Also when lodestones came out people were mad for the easy requirements to obtain them. A longer harder route to get there would make them better in my opinion.

Not to mention adding more land gives us more options for little places like goblin tribes, wolf packs, things like these that right now we have no room for, and any knew monster that comes into the game now is a dungeon monster because there is no room on land. A new land dwelling monster would be nice for once.

No but really, I get what your saying. Vorago for instance could have been a very cool boss above ground.
Yep, the RuneScape map is ridiculously small. I'm pretty sure it's actually less than a square mile in size (if I'm wrong, I can say with certainty that the surface world is less than 3 square miles).
World of Warcraft is something like 60 square miles and doesn't feature quick travel teleports like RuneScape.
In my honest opinion, Jagex should leave Gielnor as it is and create a new continent of very large proportions.
I realise Jagex claimed they wanted to finish off Gielnor before they start another continent (i.e. finish the elf city, desert, etc.) but adding an extra continent would be a fantastic addition to the game and it'd be worth the man hours if they could add enough content so suit.
Yeah i hope they do it, remember doing DoC and it seemed like
"Hey welcome to the holy Edgeville Saradominist monastary, don't mind the evil zamorakian fortress on the hill over there."
"Your god's dead next time he's in a world event. "

while it would make runescape look better. There is one big problem, content that is good due to short travel time compared to others.
For example if the anvil in varrock is put further away from the bank it would grealt decrease the exp/hour. Since runescape is filled with different training methods and activities, they would end up breaking something without knowing it
