It just depends on Jagex and how much effort they put into making it not to annoying, and making it worth getting up those levels. Not to mention it would be bad if they broke the game, or affected the economy too much. Trying to get to 120 slayer and I'm kinda unmotivated, thank you bxp and scarabs.

They've said the content-cap for the rework will still be 99. They won't be putting unlockable skill perks beyond that point this time around. It will be more or less the same as it is now: the skill will be capped at 99, while virtual levels will allow people to push beyond, to 120 and 200 million XP.

lmao exactly dude I just got max total 2 days before 120 slay was out (was a year and half old acc then) and got 120 slay not even a month ago... doing exactly that... mostly just daily gainz putting every xp I got on slayer till it happened... finally can stop caring about xp (I do not care about virtual levels)

Anyway for new skills (that should be rarely released) they better make the max obtainable in reasonable time, doesn't matter even if it's 120 then it should have quick xp like invention.

I support 120's. I want to progress. I maxxed so many years ago and yeah. 120 sounds nice.

if u don't want 120's then don't lv. stay 99. nobody is forcing u to 99.

pvp ....make it so when u enter the wildy. ur stats revert back to 99. PROBLEM SOLVED

because you do something for hours per day for months means it's ok to raise the bar? Also Jagex has said, that 120s wont come.
I don't trust easily, so when I tell you I trust you, don't make me regret it.

I just got my skills maxed after years and years of playing this game.

Slayer 120 was one of my favorite updates to game that have lately happened, but I would had done it anyways. Actually I was almost done already when cap was increased. Now I am worried about the time when I reach 200m xp and my counter stops growing, what I am doing with my life then? Only non-combat skill I plan to hit virtual 120 is herb, and not because I like that skill, I really dont. I just want that cape. In fact I am wearing my 99 herb cape override above my new max cape :D

For years this game was about endless progression, but now with many players already reaching the end of it, true horrors have been unleashed; More and more players grind for nothing more than XP gains to get more virtual levels and higher total number of XP.

To me that is way more sad than the original settings, where we still had little more to gain than numbers.

I agree. i, personally would like to see non-combat skills go up to 120. Combat skills (Attack, Strength and Defense...) should stay 99 though, in my opinion.
