people say increasing cb skills to 120 would be too op but as it currently stands we are reaching a max for bosses didnt they have to do some nerfs on bosses t make them easier? i would like to see cb skills go to 120 imagine the insane bosses we could get with that . im not even fully maxed yet but i would support 120 in all skills

I remember the times when only 1 or 2 people were maxed. An most people didn't even bat an eye at the idea of maxing because they had a life an the only people maxed were either robots or played 20 hours a day. Now that xp hours have slowly been pushed up for some reason everyone feels like they have to be maxed instead of just playing for fun. Would I like to see all skill raised to 120 yes. Would be nice to have a few new trees/herbs to farm. Do I feel the time for it is now no. I feel like the best shot we have of being able to raise all skills to 120 is first this game needs a breath of new life. An increase of newer/younger players with free time an minimal responsibilities. Then we could introduce higher xp rates without having to worry about losing the game to a raging player base. An the new younger players would feel this is the norm an would have time to max all skills to 120 on say 800-1m xp/hr. But as for now I am happy with the virtual level system. I can still track my levels much easier, get fireworks/rewarded for my effort an people can see the work I've put in past 99. Which is basically the same tbh. As long as theres new content introduced for levels past 99 which therefore means faster exp rates then I support. However, if one argues that no content should be introduced as the exp rates are already "fast" then i disagree for the sole reason being what would be the point of increasing the level cap then if no new content will be introduced.

Now as for the argument made that alot of players are 2595 total as the sole reason for increasing the level cap to 120. This is invalid. We have to look at it in terms of exp and not levels. To clarify, at 2595 total level the average player will have about 430m total exp so with such a low amount of exp requirement ofcourse many people would be maxed. However. to have 120 in all skills one must gain about 2.7b total exp which is over 6 times greater. Is this reasonable? People say the exp rates are faster nowadays. But if this is true then when i check the highscores for the 5.2b exp people why can i find only 25 of them? Not counting suomi. Before we ask for the level cap to rise we must ask what is the reason for it. We already have 120 capes to show off our achievement. The next thing I can reasonably see is introduction of 120 skill cape emotes or the ability to quick chat your level past 99. But to make virtual levels into real levels would and should require concrete reasons such as new content and so fourth.

Cheers.

Some exp rates have increased at an outrageous level.
It's very late here and I don't have time to cite/research everything but from 2007 say to now;
Fastest exp rates for
Smithing was 60k an hour now 600k an hour
RC was 24.5k ish an hour now 220k an hour
agility was 45k an hour now 140k an hour
mining 30k an hour now 140k an hour
All the combat skills and slayer have had their exp rates skyrocket with t90 weapons, multi combat, t90 power armour, EOC abilities, better prayers, better potions, increased slayer mask bonuses, monsters essentially nerfed as they were never updated after EOC. To give that some perspective the first guy to get 200mil in str exp, did so with a Dragon Scimitar, D chain and legs and normal str pots - training on Dark beasts - you can imagine what his exp rates must have been like, no dark bows back then either.

Someone please check my numbers, thanks.

What is the secret to 600k per hour at smithing? I would love to know.

I can see it happening, but slowly. Slayer is the primary target for a 120 skill IMO.

Combat skills would naturally allow level 100, 110 and 120 tier weapons, but they'd also have to include spells, and how to unlock them (though I can see the Eastern Lands playing a part in that). With the imminent mining/smithing rework, it would be easier to take things to 120, as well as runecrafting if new runes are required for level 99+ spells.

Herblore Summoning and Prayer could easily become overpowered at over 120, while construction would really have to wait until a complete revision of the skill.

Agility would be kind of pointless, as would thieving. The remaining gathering/artisan skills would complement the combat skills.
