Same here.

The pre-launch coverage of Archaeology started with Desperate Times on Anachronia and Professor Tony's advantage in the Al-Kharid digsite. Fort Forinthry is proably the Anachronia with respect to Archaeology, and the royal murder quest is probably the prelude to Necromancy similar to Professor Tony's adventures before Archaeology.

The announcement was released in August 2022, but the actual development started months before it. They might be developing Necromancy for close to a year now, and it may not be too many months before we see its actual release.

We may not have to wait long for the royal murder quest which should lead to Necromancy later, as one of the main quest/lore developers Mod Stu is about to release a series of his Game Jam projects next week.

Game Jam projects are Jmods' hobby projects. They will only work on it after they have completed their Jagex assigned projects, so looks like at least Mod Stu has finished his part of the new quest development.
