Jagex said it a long time ago quests are not reusable content that takes a lot of time to develop, so the future quests will mostly be 'bottled quests" like Evil Dave, the Growers and such.

Unfortunately, there will only be a couple of quests from past series, the rest will likely be all "bottled quests".

The lore is great, yes. But I'm not searching for 5000 words of impeccable English in every quest. You don't need a degree in English to write a good storyline. Take While Guthix Sleeps and Ritual of the Mahjarrat for example.

But the very reason why people started to like quests opposed to 7 years ago is because of the 5000 words of impeccable English in every quest. Any quest that did not have that were considered as a waste of time in the current rs3 population. I also assume that's also why you made this thread.

Think we need some community led quest ideas tbh. Even if they're not used it might help spark interest in quests, or give a Jmod inspiration for something else.

Honestly, that is such an amazing idea :) ! It would bring the community into the development of new storylines etc! I would 100% support your idea!

We had something called runelabs at one point. That was the main reason why they removed it BTW.

That definitely is a shame. I still hope they expand on some of the stories that they are setting up in the quests that they're bringing out though. They seem to have gone back slightly on their word as we've had Sliske's Games from about 2013- Dec 2016...

I'm struggling to figure out what your point is here, to be honest. I can still resort to the point that you don't need an English degree to write a good storyline for a set of quests. I could write a storyline that could be considered "good", but do I have an English degree? Not at all...

Any quest that doesn't have "5000 words of impeccable English" is not automatically labelled as "bad" by the current community. Sliske's set of games weren't necessarily written to the quality of someone with an English degree (Missing, Presumed Death - Sliske's Endgame) yet people that I've asked actually quite enjoyed that questline...

You're assuming I made this thread for what reason? I don't understand what you're trying to insinuate.

Yes, I remember Runelabs. Why would they remove Runelabs because of quests and suggestion for future quests? That doesn't make any sense... The whole idea of it was to get ideas from the community. People suggesting new quest stories would hardly cause its closure.

no thanks to more quests
way to much of the same content in the quests
do that, go there, use those, solve the puzzle, kill a thing

is that really a quest? or just a wayblock? :P

wouldn't be better to have a real quest with a difficult to get through?

I am one of the spacers don't really care about quests or talking, get it over asap, the faster it is done even better.
so many quests is really pointless.

I definitely agree with the fact that it would be nice to get a quest that is very challenging to complete. However, it is difficult to say that RuneScape would be a proper game if it didn't have quests and a storyline... It would only feel like a half-completed game to me if that was the case. It would be like a car without its engine. Lots of parts inside it that don't lead anywhere.

But still there is to much boring annoying quests, they should rather cut the quests down and maybe make like 2-1 quests.
Fair enough the quest line is differents but com’ooon there is so many shhh quest to do, stopped doing quest after the grinder menaphos came out.

And for one instance its to repetetive specially the new one, they should delete a bunch of the idiot boring no content quests and set ut up maybe 3 questlibe with different stories led into the same final quest?

Imo i hate quests, idc bout quests, think rs quest is boring but it have good potential

"Quality over quantity" is just an excuse for laziness. Refusing to use existing areas for quests when many, many good ones were only or almost only in old areas. They way things are done at Jagex has clearly changed, and a quest is a year long project instead of sitting down and getting them done at the rapid pace we saw before.
It's ironic that the company that has said they probably won't do any more world events because they are a lot of effort for a one time thing, puts excessive resources into areas and cutscenes only visited or viewed once (and most still aren't that good).

How many quests did we have in 2008, the year While Guthix Sleeps, in many people's opinion the best quest was released? 19. And they weren't a bunch a 5 minute quests either, they had an impressive roster of medium and long, enjoyable quests.

Instead we get 6 quests in 2017 including a 5 minute Menaphos quest, a 0 content errand quest, 2 unfunny "comedy" quests pissing on lore and continuity for a some puns a 6 year old might laugh at and one I can't even do yet because it requires 100 odd hours of rep grinding
You'll get it when you deserve it.
