does seasonal quest just mean holiday event...

No. It means a quest that sounds like, feels like, and plays like, and rewards like a permanent quest, but it is only for limited time.

Correction:

The "seasonal Quest" is Permanent to the game. Meaning it has no time limit to it :) :)

Think in terms of Broken home
Time to follow an trail of Treasure.

No. Broken Home is a Permanent quest to the game but seasonal quests are like the Christmas Event Quest series.

Think in term of Up to Snow Good.

But this " seasonal quest" that was revealed at Runefest for Christmas is permanent. Here is the proof:

"Violet is Blue"
General Information

A Permanent Christmas Quest.

The 10th Anniversary of Myths of the Whitelands.

Focuses on a Yeti family with a Human girl named Violet who believes she is a Yeti.

Take the girl to the Yeti town and make sure sure enjoys her experience by making it magical."

Edit- Before you say that is different. The J mods themselves stated that "Broken home" was part of an Halloween event in 2014 but stayed " permanent". It was seasonal because it was themed around Halloween.
Time to follow an trail of Treasure.

OK. Maybe Jagex already made up their mind for Violet is Blue to stay permanent from the get go then.

So on top of miniquests like Rebuidling Edgeville, we have 4 permanent quests this year instead of 3 permanent and 1 seasonal quest then. And this is actually on par with last year. And they added the lore from EDs and events like the current Halloween one. Not a bad year in term of lore of Gielinor actually. :)

Two more new quests this year have just been announced in Runefest.

Oh 2 fucking hell they must be exhausted.

I'm surprised they're even making two! Could be so much worse!

Remember guys once mobile and m+s comes out they have absolutely no excuse (other than low participation) to make them more frequently!

I'm sure they'll find another excuse. Even with Mobile and Mining/Smithing Rework on the way, they've released loads of other non-Questing content this year. Quests are just very low on their list of priorities these days.

Unfortunately we're in a time where PvMScape and MaxStatScape >>>>>>>>>>>>>> QuestScape.

Questing is made more and more complicated recently and mods are trying their hardest to ease the burden of requirements which peaked with the release of Sliske's Endgame which required like 90% of all quests to be completed before starting it.

They are looking to improve quest participation by adding the Quest Point Shop for more meaningful rewards, AND ease the burden of quest requirement responsibility by only having suggested requirements and gated rewards such as in Missing, Presumed Death and The World Wakes. We'll see how that works!
