To be fair, Jagex revealed their plan on some "crazy Elder God quests" in Runefest 2017. They just did not find the time to get to this interesting storyline yet. Just give them some time, perhaps Elder God quests as well as good quest reveals from Runefest 2018 will come next year, if not the last 4 months of this year.
Jagex have revealed many things that have never seen the light of day.
If only they could "find time" between MTX promos to release some of them.
You'll get it when you deserve it.

Jagex actually have released almost all the highlight content in Runefest 2017 already with still 3.5 months left in 2018. They also released previously unrevealed PoH, You're It quest, Skillcapes perks among other things with Quest Point Cape coming up.
They are actually doing pretty well with their Runefest 2017 reveals plus some more, just that some people seemingly were satisfied with their reveals at the time of Runefest 2017 (check the mostly positive comments), but somehow think they are not enough only a year later.

Agreed. I stopped subbing a few years ago because frankly...It's not worth it.
I play for the quests, for the story.
I used to buy a premium sub, but when you barely get any quest each year I just don't see much point. I don't care much about grinding.
Exactly. I play for the story and quests too. It makes RuneScape different.

Quests are essential for many people, as others have said in this thread, without it the game is just a dry skilling grind. RuneScape is an RPG and it was built on quests and story.
This is something that Nex is Life said back in March time. Without quests and a story, RuneScape becomes dry and boring if all you can do is level up skills by repetitively clicking on something or making 1000s of something else...

To be fair, it's hard to take any storyline seriously after the far-reaching ramifications of
Endgame
. Especially if it's from a "bottle" (read: self-contained) quest.
I agree that it was rather unexpected but we still haven't had any confirmation of what's happened with that ramification nearly 2 years on. Quite sad really.

Plans aren't finished and released quests sadly, so it doesn't really matter what they have planned if they can't come out with the finished product within a certain timeframe. IF Jagex bounces back with a bunch of new exciting quests next year (I mean more than 6 where 4 of them haven't been rushed) then it would revive my spirits towards them.
Don't get me wrong, Clue Scroll Rework and some other of the announcements at Runefest 2017 were great
BUT!
The Mining and Smithing Rework & RS Mobile are all great but haven't been released a year later... They will probably use these as their core releases for Runefest 2018 too. You can't use the same thing twice lol. Don't announce it if you're not ready to near enough release it!

The thing is, I was satisfied with Pieces Of Hate being their core quest release for the BEGINNING of the year... I was still expecting at least another 5-8 quests to follow it!

You better believe it won't be 6-9 quests per year going forward in any Jagex game.
And as I mentioned Jagex only revealed Piece of Hate in Runefest 2017, and they threw in You're It... It was actually a bonus quest.

Being honest, I think you are giving Jagex
WAY WAY WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT
. They have released 2 quests this year which is an all-time low. It isn't good enough for a game in which I pay money to mainly play quests and discover the story! Everything should be tended to, none shunned (as Nex is Life put it).

Not that jagex revealed more than just Piece of Hate in term of quests a year ago. You should have known it a year ago but obviously you still paid, and paid since 2011.

So I suppose I can predict the future now then? I could somehow a year ago have said "Jagex isn't going to release any more quests this year, I should unsubscribe!"
I have paid since 2011, yes. But back then I had tons of quests to do. Now I'm waiting for them. Take me back 4 years and I would be in my element. Between 8-10 quests a year so I wouldn't get tired of the same old skilling grind. 2 is just laughable.
One thing I feel that I must ask is, with all due respect: Why are you always fighting Jagex's corner? Can you not see my point at all about the fact that in 2008 there were 19 quests while in 2018 there are currently 2?
Do you not have any gripes with the game at all and feel like Jagex is a perfect company? You don't get anywhere in this world unless you complain a little.
