That's fair and I appreciate the honesty, but you can understand why I'd be frustrated right?

R.O.P was announced, then bumped back to make time for another project, then another project and then yet more projects.
New projects keep coming in, and R.O.P keeps getting knocked back. I'm not going to begrudge any off those projects, for the most part they were enjoyable. But surely after so many years R.O.P could get a chance?

Would it help if players actively contributed to the development cycle, or would that be considered more of a hinderance?
I'd like to help in whatever way I could, I'm sure other players would as well.

Your possibly equally as frustrated or even more so?

P.S: Please forgive the rambly nature of this post.
Check out Thieves guild layout redesign. Happy ‘scaping

No shit Sherlock. Anyway, I answered the survey wrong, so you can just ignore it.

Fear not. I share your frustration. RoP was my baby when I was in the design stage and it has helped to fom the Armadyl and aviansie that we know now. There are stories I would love to tell that involve it and some lore I would love to expand.

But, each time it is delayed, the expectation for what it should be grows exponentially bigger. Which means that it becomes a larger project... which means it gets delayed. Etc.

I won't lie. I genuinely worry that it can never live up to the hype now. I'm a fan of my story and of the reveals, but the expectations have grown humongous now. Still, I'd rather the tale be told and it to not live up to the hype, then for it to never be told at all.

Whilst it's sweet that you would offer, I'm afraid it would be more hindrance than assistance. Besides everything we need is here and comes from here. Player's couldn't create the code, which is made here, they couldn't do the models, or the animations. Some of the writing, perhaps, but that would require a constant battle between real canon and headcanon and that way madness lies.

Thanks for offering, but no, I'm afraid it wouldn't really help. :)

Rambling is always forgiven. I ramble myself quite often.

I do want to see RoP made, definitely, and it frustrates me that I don't have better news, but I do understand the process and the resources here and so I can appreciate why it hasn't arrived yet.

It is still on our radar. It is still on our list of things we want to do, so I would expect to see it in due course. But, we have to pick our updates sensibly and do what's right for the whole playerbase.

RoP will have its time, fear not. ;)

Invention is done and I watched their idea for it and it was horrible so leave it and add things properly. Just add an invention thing to the quest reward.

Shattered worlds is done. It is EOC. Incase you never noticed all combat is dead all mini games. That is EOCCCCC wow. No point doing anything to any mini games ever.

Mining and smithing they just said on that live stream they're not bothering and just doing an update...

5th age quests yes.

Slayer is EOC.

Yes I am sensible. You don't need voice acting.

Honestly voice acting was probably the single biggest mistake Jagex made when talking about quests. It hardly helps to gain players when some characters are voice-acted, but most aren't. It should be all one or the other. Sure, One Piercing Note was a fantastic quest, but was it really worth the cost?

@Raven: Why must ROP get bigger and bigger each time it is delayed? I thought there was a very specific design you wanted to stick to?

I don't think RoP (or any future quest) needs voice acting. It's nice, but I'd rather have more quests without VA rather than fewer quests with VA. The inconsistency as it is now (especially noticeable with TLW PQD and Ports story mission) might be annoying, but why throw out the voice-acted audio we already have?

Mod Raven isn't saying that the design of RoP gets any bigger each time it's polled or surveyed; rather, the expectations players have for it get bigger. My expectations as to what it will be stay the same: I just want whatever it was we were supposed to get in the first place.

I fear a throwaway comment has been taken to heart. My comment on VO was just an example on IF we decided to voice act it. All current plans do not require voice acting and I don't realistically expect that to change.

We've not had voiceacting in a quest since....I'm not actually sure, but I think Fate of the Gods was the last one. But even without voiceacting, it's very true that there'd still need to be new audio made. New songs to compose and record, any sounds that any new creatures might make, and probably several variants of wind and other environmental sounds...

Bump!!!

Armadyn, shouldn't you update the reserve posts to at least copy what was in the old thread onto the new thread??

I really don't think we need voice acting again. Most of the time it is laggy where it doesn't even play to start with so we miss it anyway.

It would make the wait even longer.

And honestly, having every character having a British accent is kinda odd for a game with many cultures. I know it is a British game, but other games at least change the accents.

For example, Eli Bacon's voice didn't match at all.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.
