Hey guys,

Glad to see this thread is still alive! I'm a lot less interested in RoP since it will require the Endgame, and thus I won't be able to play it anytime soon, but I still sincerely wish for the quest to be released (and of course I'll be able to read the lore from afar, like I always do ;) )

Anyway, we had quite a fun time over the course of two threads supporting this quest and getting Jagex to try to make it, which eventually, hopefully they will! The first thread is now on page 48 of the Future Game Updates forum, and it will be eaten by Chewy very shortly. So, if you want to reread the thread for memories, now is the time. (Also Armadyn, if you need any more information to copy over to this thread!)

P.S. I'm surprised that thread took this long to die! I thought for sure it would have been deleted in a few weeks after this thread was made, but it took almost a year! :O

I told myself I wouldn’t post here again until I had some kind of news to share. I still don’t have anything new I can share; it seems like this time the jmods have gone “radio silence” for real this time. Once again, I am sure we’ll learn one way or the other at Runefest, if not sooner (perhaps after the release of Player-Owned Farms).

I too am a bit anxious about the quest requiring SE—I am very sure such a thing will get a negative response from the wider community, even if it hasn’t on this thread. Nevertheless, I don’t think that’s set in stine yet, and I’m sure the question will be posed to the wider community in some way or another.

Yes, I am aware that Version 1 will be eaten soon—though I already have the thread archived on Webcite, I will also copypaste the most important stuff into a document for future use, though all the most important information is already in this thread now.

... for reference ... only a Fmod/Jmod/Lmod's post can be done in a way to prevent a thread from automatically "bumping" itself to the top of a forum.
By posting on it, you saved the thread yourself from Chewy for another few months (the Future Updates forum doesn't have quick turnover as it once did ... )

If you want the thread locked, you would need to request for it in the community home forum

Correct as to this thread. However, version 1 WILL eventually be consumed by Chewy, as it cannot be bumped any more (other than perhaps by a jmod) as it has hit the post limit, but there is no need, because we now have this thread, which includes the important information.

Still, it is quite something that V1 managed to stick around this long. I’m guessing it’s because the forums overall don’t have much activity, as Reddit and Twitter have taken over, and stuff that gets posted here might often be moved. But that’s just my speculation.

That's a comparison people need to be more careful making. Times have changed, and now nobody seriously expects Half-Life 3 will become a reality. That's not the image we should be projecting about RoP (even if we may think it is actually quite apt).
