Seriously, I remember this being talked about in 2014. Why was this quest even polled? I feel like after risking Bandos and Armadyl to the DEATH, the least that could have been done is follow up content. Bandos got a quest and it wasn't polled, but hell, I would have flipped if they did that.

We can only speculate. Here's my take - between the survey stream and the updates we've received lately - very good updates to be sure - it's clear that there is content that developers are passionate about, that they want to work on. This hasn't really been one of them, as there's only one developer we've seen willing to even speak of it. Not to say that definitely reflects enthusiasm for RoP, but if it does then it's not nearly enough.

Even with moderately good responses to polls and surveys, is it a good idea to tackle a project your staff doesn't believe in as much as others?

When the whole Sixth age thing bega, as an Armadyl fan I was so excited. Even more when they revealed that Armadyl was truly a good person with good intentions. We'd get to be able to help Armadyl make a new home for his people and others on Gielinor, there was so much potential.

The only other Gods like Armadyl were Seren and Guthix, and Seren seemed a bit too isolationist, while Guthix is dead. So of course I was super excited when Rite of Passage was announced and an Armadyl storyline could begin.

I mostly play the game for the quests and the lore. I used to be a premium club subscriber but...Frankly, Each year I regretted it more and more. Fewer and fewer quests came, projects were dropped and what not.

And now it's what, five years later and there's still no sign of Rite of Passage, the quest I kept waiting for year after year that would be the beginning of an Aviansie and Armadyl focused storyline. There's a reason I kinda lost interest in Runescape and this is kinda part of it. Hopefully things will change in the future and we'll finally get some more Armadyl content.

But in general quest content has been so scarce. Why would I buy Premium sub when it takes up to 3 months for one quest at this point. And it's not even the Armadyl/Abbinah quest I've been waiting for.

Whoever decided to have an opportunity to "wipe out Armadyl" as Bandos said it, somehow got everyone to believe that was a good idea. In my honest opinion, Rite of Passage is a much better idea than World Event 2 (the outcome) was. The event was great, but how that decision made it, I have no idea. I sometimes do not know what goes on back there.

So what we know now is that Abbinah was on the recent survey and scored #4 out of all new areas. Rite of Passage didn't show up itself for already having so much data, as I understand it :)

It's certainly more encouraging than discouraging when it comes to the potential of them exploring it. It remains to be seen what happens - Raven's next project is Player Owned Farms, so at the earliest we'll get news after that.

Indeed. Abbinah performed quite strongly in the poll, coning in 4th out of 14. They’ve also made clear that the survey results are NOT gospel, so even if Abbinah came in first by a wide margin, that would not necessarily guarantee it being made—nor would it being crushed mean that it’ll never be made.

But, as Arma says, we probably won’t know until after Player Owned farms releases.
