God Birds are more associated with woodcutting than they are with Armadyl, though, so I’m not too keen on having them as a reward from this quest, as much as I’d love to see the current ones updated and new ones added.

(Also, the Clue Rework’s original pitch included new God Birds...not sure if that’s been scrapped yet, though.)

For those who haven't seen it yet, the Annual Runescape Survey is up in-game, and Rite of Passage is one of the options under 'Which of these areas would you be eager for us to work on?' - 'Exploring the aviansie homeworld of Abbinah'. Interesting to see that it is not listed as one of the potential story updates - could the focus of this project have changed, or is this simply an alternative way to pitch and spin the quest?

Either way I am pleased to see it on there with a brief description this time - and it seems to be polling reasonably well.

Probably the focus just changed to adding the area, with quests maybe coming or maybe not coming. In retrospect, the big reason for Rite of Passage- lack of Aviansie lore, was relatively fulfilled with Sliske's Endgame quest (by the way, is this quest even fixed/completed/replayable yet?). Jagex doesn't want to spend money creating Wind Waker in RS3 when they can pay out 30 million British pounds in dividends to Chinese mining company instead, but they can add a new area to the game and make it look cool and maybe add in four bad quests (like with Menaphos expansion).

I agree, this quest will only be another form of expansions if they were to make an aviansie world, and considering that the main point of it is practically lore, it wouldn't make sense making Abbinah if the whole concept is to simply start a storyline for the aviansies. Priff didn't even come out until 10 years after the first quest right? This will pretty much only be another Menaphos but with even less uses, and writing code to output sentences for story is a waste of money. Jagex should just start off a single quest with a pet aviansie as a reward, then a few more after that. At that point an idea will come up on how to make Abbinah useful, until then we'll only be going back to expansions for that.

It won't be expansion size.
Wiith the state of so many story lines "done" or close to done now, if rop gets enough interest from the community at large, ot could become part of the 2018 or 2019 quest dev (not just mod raven's tapp project)

They have apparently reduced the scope of the quest, so it won't be FOTG in size.

Seriously, I remember this being talked about in 2014. Why was this quest even polled? I feel like after risking Bandos and Armadyl to the DEATH, the least that could have been done is follow up content. Bandos got a quest and it wasn't polled, but hell, I would have flipped if they did that.
