Yeah, TAPP being put on hold probably impacts the Empryean Citadel stuff more than RoP. But Raven seemed to always be working on something for RoP during TAPP. So yeah.

I'd like to hear from him on how far he got, if he isn't too busy...
To those cursed by war and pest, Come into the light of Armadyl and rest. This is the law of Armadyl.

I think I've mentioned a few times before that I've moved the Citadel reclamation project into my latest RoP design. It's not a spoiler, but it gives a really nice thread to tie some things together and I'm a big fan of it.

I had written a full design in my TAPP before TAPP was paused, so the pausing of TAPP has not impacted this at all. RoP is a big project and needs a team to pick it up.

I will likely need to rewrite the design following some discussions internally, but I think I can keep the core.

Now, on a different subject....

IF (I must stress IF, this is not a guaranteed project) I were able to craft a novice Armadyl themed bottle quest, what sort of rewards would you expect/want out of it.

Caveats:

* Minimal graphics
* Ideally not combat related
* Should be relevant to novice players as well as high level players.
* Must be small in scope (i.e not unlock large new gameplay features and the like)

I'm interested in the sort of things you'd expect to see and I'm tagging you guys first as you're the primary audience as Armadyleans. :)

Reminder disclaimer: I can't promise I'll be able to do this. It depends on how long a previous project takes.

You ask a difficult question. The only thing I can think of that could be relevant to both novice and high-level players is some kind of a cosmetic. But that requires graphical budget to make. More so if it’s a pet, because people will want to have it be able to override familiars.

Otherwise? I think anything too high level would be out of reach for novice players, and anything novice players could use would be obsolete on arrival for high-level players.

I think a simple cosmetic like an Armadyl feather headpiece or a cosmetic Armadyl weapon should do nicely as a the main reward. And then add maybe a new minor skilling area and a few XP lamps.

If you want an idea for what the quest could be about...
I already suggested the Eagle's peak Aviansie colony, but another idea could be aviansie settling in the Armadyl tower, and the Falador humans trying to rout them out. And you'd have to try and make peace between them?

Maybe an upgrade to the Armadyl pendant (slightly visually modified)?
Give it some kind of perk or bonus whilst wearing it.

Just an example;-
Blessed Armadyl pendant - when worn has a chance to convert any arrow type (up to dragon) into ‘light’ arrows, whilst fletching. The % amount would scale so the better arrows have a higher chance of converting.

The arrows themselves would deal bonus damage to ‘dark entities’, things like dark beasts, ripper demons, the undead etc.

I know you didn’t really want combat or far reaching Mod Raven, but this is the first thing that jumped to mind.
Check out Thieves guild layout redesign. Happy ‘scaping

Hey guys,

Try and think less about cosmetics and more about something simple but useful you could get as a reward. It doesn't need to be the new best in slot, vital, must have, but it should feel like a useful thing to complete the quest for.

Think of things like The Holy Wrench, which offers a small but useful boost across multiple levels. Or something that acts like a luck upgrade boost (small) so it's useful to bring with you.

Think niche, it's only a bottle quest after all. :)

Oh and don't suggest XP, obviously XP is already being included as it is a quest.

If not cosmetic then I definitely think Csskye had a good idea. Giving the Armadyl pendant a proper use would be neat.

I think it shouldn't be a ranged-only use though.

What if the upgraded pendant could give you an Armadylean blessing out of 3 categories?
Skilling, Combat, and Crafting.

3 blessings, you can pick one each day, and then the pendant has to recharge.
The combat buff could be a % chance to get a shield blocking a % damage while fighting. This buff would last for an hour

The skilling one could be an increased chance of cutting/mining logs/ores up to Yew/Adamantium. The buff would last for two hours.

The crafting one could be a % chance to retain crafting materials up to the same tier as Adamant/Yew.
So say if you're training construction there's a small chance you won't use planks, if you're smithing there's a small chance it won't use a bar. This one would also last for two hours.

You can only pick one of these buffs each day, then the pendant has to recharge for 21 hours before it can be used again. Wearing the pendant also gives you a 1 prayer skill bonus so you have an incentive to wear it as a low level player.

How's that?
If you don't want it to be combat related the combat buff can be cut, leaving the crafting and skilling ones only. It'd still be a useful thing for both high and low level players, but much more so for low level skillers and crafters.
