Again, you still have yet to tell us if you have first hand information that Jagex mentioned anything about Runescape Rematered in the West or you just hear or read it somewhere. You still are not willing to tell us where is the NDA part come from, and why everybody else including but not limited to the user who wrote Page 1, Post 2 is allowed to talk about it openly.

Did a survey screenshot not get posted on RS reddit a few days ago from Swagbucks? regarding a new runescape game etc etc? I felt it may have been misleading as soon as 'crossplay' was mentioned in it. / You Decieve the one and Only MK /

I think that post means Crossplay. They also mentioned classes. Everything in that post was very vague though.

Why would they make a game solely for a Chinese market? Not even an Asian market? Just China? Absolute Nonsense.

It might have been for an initial China release with later releases planned for other markets but they wouldn’t limit themselves by only being in China that’s just bad business, to ignore the rest of the globe.

Like I’ve said earlier Rs remastered has probably been shelved or scrapped and any new leaks will be different games. So stop arguing the toss even though you agree with me. Just because you have some inane desire to be right, all the time.

Maybe because China has its own firewalled closed internet. I don't think people in China can even play RS without a VPN. It makes sense to me to create a game for a market with close to 1.5 billion people. Now that we have new owners I can not see it happening unless something was agreed during the sale.

With RS the more you play the more you progress, but with China they have limited daily internet time (I think its 1.5 hours for school age kids) so the new game mode would have to have some kind of limits because they can not compete with high scores on the main game or even the rest of Asia.

Perhaps you can see it happening with Fukong Interactive's 2020 1st half Financial Report:

They mentioned their R&D investment on a game called Runescape Heroes, which is outside the Hongtou/Jagex charters.

I remember that there was discussion of Jagex hiring a lot of programmers to make a "new" RuneScape. If there's a modified RuneScape being set up for the Chinese market, that's something different.

At least the latter would presumably be a way of making additional money from RuneScape.

Existing RuneScape players may like to see RuneScape itself become somehow "new" and "improved", but they would tend to see playing some other game as xp waste, so it's possible that the project for a RuneScape remastered for the Western market is being temporarily shelved pending some rethinking.

Can RuneScape still be a home to its existing accounts, but with some change added that makes it one of the Top 10 major games to be considered by online gamers? That's the question that I hope that Jagex would love to answer, and is trying to answer.

Remember Jagex once only had Runescape as their sole game and nothing else. Then Jagex added OSRS and RSC and Funorb (with Armies of Gielinor set in the Runescape Universe). Rest assured, some players still played these Runescape Franchise games other than the de facto Runescape which started the dynasty many people called RS3 now, because they don't consider them as xp waste.

Varieties are good. If all the Runescape Franchise games are carbon copies of RS3, then they are xp waste. However, if they are quite different than RS3 then they can only strengthen the immersion of the Runescape Universe. The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, etc make the original Star Trek much stronger for the same reason.

Name one Successful Jagex game that wasn't developed by the Gowers. I'll wait.

OSRS is not developed by the Gowers at all. Although it can be many times more successful if it is a more appealing Living Game to the modern consumers, I won't say it is not successful.

Likewise, Jagex can make any new game using the similar blueprint, mind it Runescape Remastered, 2008scape, 2009scape, 2014scape or 2046scape, successful with the right people and no Gowers. :)
