"Leading British games company Jagex has today announced that it has signed a deal with Flying Wild Hog to launch a new multi-format living game, the first title to be signed to its third-party publishing division Jagex Partners...

The new game – built using Unreal Engine 4 – will deliver a rich, deep, connected and customisable multiplayer action-RPG gaming experience of high adventure and explosive action set in a sci-fi universe."

Runescape remastered would have been just that Dilbert. Rs game world & lore, everything you know and love given the beans and made better.

With this saying sci-fi universe it’s safe to say it’s something new. Check out Thieves guild layout redesign. Happy ‘scaping

Not really. Creativity is unlimited. Who said Jagex or its partners can't come up with ideas of a new sci-fi game set at 300 years after the death of Guthix, or the end of the 6th Age?

No grid system? Woot!
No .6 second tick? Literally what is the point? This is the probably the most defining part of the RuneScape combat system, removing it would make the combat unrecognizable and alien to the people that I would guess this MMO is aimed at. I feel like this could be worked around instead of removed. H̸̛͘͠Į̸̛͜͜

I believe Jagex is not working on any "sequel" of RS3 or OSRS. All along the last 3 years they said the new games they are working on will have no dependencies on their current games. They are just new games in the same Runescape universe that we are familiar with but they are definitely not the sequel of RS3 or OSRS.

Runescape Remastered is just the name the community thought it was because Fukong announced a game with such name in China. It may not have any bearing to the GAMES, yes plural of GAME, Jagex is working on in their UK or other western sites.

Except Jagex were working on a game called Runescape remastered which got leaked during a closed survey and has since had all traces of it removed from the net.

Also you didn’t directly mention sequel but if the new game you reported on featured Runescape characters lore etc but was set 300 years in the future then by default that would be a sequel. As it would be a new game set later on in the runescape universe.

But you seem to confuse yourself thinking it’s both a sequel and saying it’s not a sequel in separate posts. So whatever. Check out Thieves guild layout redesign. Happy ‘scaping

Wrong definitely. Again, Runescape Remastered was announced in Chinajoy 2017 and said to be meant for a China release only. There was not even a word about "Runescape Remastered" in the West.

Jagex has 2 "leaks" on new projects. Shauny "accidentally" leaked Next Gen, not Runescape Remaster. The other "leak" was some assets Jagex developed under the code name Aurora. Again, it is not Runescape Remastered.
