Anachronia has been released. There was no new surprise quest that came with it, like some had theorized. There is a new miniquest though, titled "Helping Laniakea."
I'll update the thread in a bit, once I have the chance.

I think there is going to be a quest, but not surprise quest.
Let's connect all the revealed facts today, and we may see the plot of the quests.
- We now know who gave Anachronia its name and why did he do that. The answer is Mr. Mordaut, the NPC who called it Fossil Island admitted everything has changed so much from the Fossil Island he envisioned so Mr. Morduat said we no longer could call it Fossil Island anymore, he said we should call it Anachronia now. Interestingly, the one NPC who gave it the name "Fossil Island" is also the one who renamed it to Anachronia, perhaps because there was really no fossils on the island?
- Laniaeka (sp?) said in the cutsence about a dragon, and a voice telling her "he doesn't want to be found and warned her to go back".
- There are huge footprints leading from the beach all the way to the inland, alongside some fleshly ripped apart huge bones. Laniaeka said the footprints look like dragon's. That hints on one of the biggest, yet to be found, dragon on Gielinor. An Elder Dragon perhaps?
- Temples are scattered all around Anachronia, with Dragonkin head statues there. This shows the ancient civilization on Anachronia was likely one of the earliest Dragonkin Tribes and they are religious - they worship some gods/demons, so it is not surprising Orthen is buried underneath some ruins that Lanieka said would take a lot of efforts to remove (or the player interrupted and said "or magic"
. My take is Orthen is buried underground.
If there is an Elder Dragon (or more of them) involved in the Anachronia lore/quest, Anachronia is going to sound even more like Monster Hunter: World.

I'm not really expecting an "ancient dragon", as those footprints are Dinosaur prints. The weird stuff is all coming from Laniaeka, who has some very interesting dialogue if you talk to her near the Ripper Dinos about what might be below.

Orthen... I guess... and the "magic" to unearth it is wielded by Kerapac.
I updated the thread! I added a new section beneath "Major Upcoming Content"; I thought it made sense. If you have any thoughts or constructive criticism on it, please let me know.

Right. Mr. Mordaut says that the Varrock Museum had assumed there would be fossils on the island, because of its location, presumed climate due to that location, etc., which is where the name "Fossil Island" came from. However, upon arrival, they've found that things aren't quite "as they should be," and that's what fueled his decision to change its name to something more appropriate.
That line from Mr. Mordaut also couldn't have made it clearer. We were right and you were wrong; RS3's Fossil Island and Anachronia are the same thing.

I'm betting that voice is Kerapac.
(Cont'd next post.)

I don't think that Laniakea likening the footprints to a dragon's is a tease for an actual dragon. My interpretation was more that dragons' footprints are the most similar thing to the footprints on Anachronia that she's encountered before (which makes sense, as "dinosaur" footprints aren't found anywhere else on Gielinor). She's just making a connection anyone would make in that situation or a similar one.
That said, I do think it could be an indication that Anachronia's dinosaurs could somehow be
connected
to dragons, if not at least the dragonkin. Maybe!

Those are the 4 ancient Dragonkin words Laniekea was able to identify on top of the locked gate at her Devil Snares outpost.
I'll guess the ancient Dragonkin locked themselves out from some Dragonkin God War or tribal rivalries. Since they have temples and totems, a lot of them all over the island, it makes more sense there was some Dragonkin diety involved in the conflict.
Sacrifice - some Dragonkin seemed to have died for their people.
Loss - this particular tribe lost the battle?
Unity - either they tried to call for a truce for unification or they tried to unify their last strength to make their last blow.
