I'm really curious what the new quest (which is scheduled to be released in December) will be about. Bigger than usual standalone quests, that's for sure from what I read. And smaller than Desperate Measures which I imagine rules out various hanging 5th age storylines (Glouphrie, Amascut...) as these seem to be a quest or two before the finale. Also, I feel 5th age quests would have been more explicitly discussed. My big question here is whether this quest will tie into some story or will it be more standalone on overall scope. Then again, let's not forget The Needle Skips which was advertised as bottle murder mystery quest but ended up directly tying into Kerapac/Jas story.

I did notice that majority of recent updates tie into each other. Desperate Times - Anachronia - Archaeology - Desperate Measures - Orthen (and planned Elder God Wars dungeon which I imagine will be continuation of this story). Something I do remember is that Azzanadra quest and City of Senntisten quest were discussed at Runefest... I kind of feel these quests would tie into this ongoing story too. Especially as Zaros took a bit of a backseat after Sliske's Endgame while Seren has been actively featured in recent storyline. I wonder if these supposedly planned Zarosian storylines will be major focus next year.

And another story element I noticed appearing in past few years: Xau-Tak. The entity was featured both in Pieces of Hate and in Curse of the Black Stone, two questlines that on first sight don't have much in common. And with ongoing theories that Xau-Tak might be some sort of "6th elder god", I wonder if it will tie into current story too.

I think the Zarosian quests (Assanadra and City of Senntisten) are being reworked into the Dragonkin/Eldergod sagas. Zaros being part of the lore in the Kerapac Track near Xilo City and waiting for a big event to happen is a hint already.

I've noticed on Runescape Wiki that in "Future updates" page, the upcoming quest is listed as "Violet is Blue 2" quest. Was there any confirmation about that? How does that tie into this being a "significant quest"?

I don't think the official name of the quest has been announced yet. Remember, Wiki info comes from regular players. It doesn't always reflect any Jagex annoncement.

Anyway, why can't Violet be involved in a significant quest? Haven't you seen apparently ordinary NPCs like Dr. Nabanik, Reldo and Primrose becoming big parts of Gielinor's wonderful history?

Yeah, I'm not saying it's impossible to tie Violet into the ongoing story. After all, "Desperate Times" tied two quests into the story that seemed full standalone on first sight (You Are It, THe Needle Skips)

I'm just wondering whether there was any announcement made regarding the quest being "Violet is Blue 2"... I've been trying to find something but no results..

No proper announcement AFAIK. They could be just calling it a nickname or some default names like what people called the Slime Quest actually came as Once Upon a Slime.

Regarding Violet, she is actually quite special already as a little child that small (like 5 or 6 maybe?) has such a powerful roar and can make and roll so many huge snowballs down the hill. Remind me of kid Goku...Perhaps we are going to help her find her true parents? :)

wiki content mutated into poison waste glouphrie quest because of gnomes and arposandra

also i had a good idea for more trees

can we get black walnut trees for woodcutting and firemaking and fletching?

i think black walnut trees would be good content for all around because when u farm black walnut trees you have to cut down after the patch is done

then u have to dig up the roots

and the only roots u use in herblore is magic tree roots
and it wastes your gp when u mix with coconut milk for antipoison ++

black walnut tree roots from farming are good becasue in real life black walnut trees secrete jugulone from there roots, which is a natural herbicide and kills plants

u could probably take it to the chemist in rimmington and have it made into a recipe for new weapon poison if u got black walnut tree roots from farming and used them as an ingredient in herblore

also we still need arposandra

EDIT woot 300
