Nope, not always true. A lot RS3 players still play for fun, but they play in CLAN and with friends as I mentioned. Other users even on this thread may have noticed it too.
So players can only play for fun if they're in a clan?

That's strange. I'm in a clan, but I didn't realise that being in a clan made my solo experiences fun.

Dilbert has saved the day. Jagex need not update anything ever again because all players need to do is join a clan to make things fun.

Of course not, players in a clan can play for individual or clan rewards too. We have lootshare and coinshare in RS3 thankfully. Jagex, I mean RS3, need not update this again. And non-clan members can be invited to a clan mass either in open world events or lootshare with the clan via FC, I mean RS3 FC. A lot of RS3 streamers are streaming clan content actually.

Who said clan focused content? Clans run a lot of minigames out of the Spotlight schedule. They can run BA, GOP and any old school minigames at their discretion. Sometimes they announce a mass to let other players know and join in the fun.

I have seen the likes of Maikeru running BA, I mean RS3 BA too.

And I didn't just mention clans. FC serves the same purpose too. There a plenty of minigame FC, I mean in RS3.

My opinion is because of the mindset of players these days.
People just want more money/ exp or others best in slot thing

CLAN Wars, Mega Duck etc don't give money/exp, but plenty of players do them, in CLAN and FC.

The mindset of modern players is to play and socialize with people of the like mind, hence most still successful MMO have big presence of clans and guilds, and by people I mean real people and not bots.

Yes you are true about the duck, people do help others, to get the other things /best in slot items like the pet and profiance halo.
Sadly no one really does the things like burtops minigames etc you know the things without a reward but still can be fun.

Yes you are true people switched a lot to clans in general, before the clan systems they did
a lot of these minigames.
It was a social meeting point of many players house partys for example!
I did not think about this, but now you mention it it does look very logic to me!

Of course you can play minigames if you join an active clan that focuses on minigames.

However, they don't run all the time, and they are not always run at a time you can play.

And then we have players who simply do not want to be forced into social situations.

While there is a market for clan gatherings, there is also a market for solo gatherings. Allowing solo players to play pieces of content until other solo players turn up to play as a group should be encouraged.

Why should minigames be run all the time? The key point is RS3 doesn't want the legacy minigames very few people still play to run all the time. That's the key reason why they made and are making D&D and Flash Events.

I believe Jagex know the markets better than you. When you talk about market, you definitely need to talk about the entire game industry too, and RS3 has told us they researched and learned from the most successful ones in running minigames and came up with Flash Events.

A pet is a "best in slot" item? We have lots of pets in RS3.

Fashionscape, and Gieinor Train they are running recent days have no rewards at all, but why are players doing them in RS3, and Jagex even put them on their in game calendar? There are modern fun for real people and legacy stacks for bots that Jagex need to ignore. Players don't come to Burthorpe Games Room for games they can play elsewhere. When they come to an online MMORPG, they want the persistent MMO and RPG content like to show case the cosmetics they earn from the game.

I'm not saying they should be run all the time. I'm saying players should have access to them all of the time.

D&Ds and Flash Events promote FOMO too much to my liking. My liking .

I understand many players prefer these formats.

I, and many others, don't.

I would rather go to a piece of content at a time of my choosing, any play that content. Why should I have to play it when Jagex say I have to play it?

I understand why D&Ds and Flash Events are time restricted. They have very high value returns in GP and/or XP. But we're talking about minigames here. The pieces of content people do for fun.

Statistics is a fickle friend. They can tell you exactly what you want to know, even if another person sees the complete opposite. Just because Jagex says the data tells them this is what people want, that doesn't make it so.

It's like the old situation during WWII. A load of planes were coming back with holes in their wings, but not in their fuselages. Everyone thought they had better make the wings of better material in the hope to make them better. It was when one person actually thought about it that they decided to make the fuselages better instead of the wings.

Just because the wings had holes in didn't mean they were the weakest point. It was the holes in the fuselages they didn't see which were the problem because it was those planes that never made it home.

I also agree with you here dilbert.
D&d and flash events are more active instead of old minigames.
You know why?
Because it gives the players chance on a high value items and exp!

Jagex does know this to because it feeds the achievent feeling of players.

I also did agree with the social aspect of minigames that basicly switched into clans.
Burthops minigames is a example ofc.
Thats why I did say: things L I K E ..... burtops ;)
