Do you know officially Jagex told us the first person to get to level 120 Necromancy required like 250 hours or over 10 days of actual playing time. Yes, I am only talking about level 120 not 200 mil Necromancy.

Do you know we can buy 99 herblore in just hours?

We can buy faster herblore levels than Necromancy since the release of bond in 2013. Why is it OK for us to max Herblore with Bond even faster than Necromancy but it is not OK with Necromancy?

Back during Divination, it took over a week to get 99. 99 is 1/8th the experience of 120. Dungeoneering took several months before somebody got 120. No getting 120 in 250 hours is not a lot of time to get 120 in a skill. Considering 120 is over 104mil experience.

Necromancer is a new skill. It shouldn't even have people close to 120 now.

Divination isn't a buyable skill. Dungeoneering is also not an artisan skill with ingredients buyable. MTX don't affect those skills, so no comparison to Herblore.

Herblore is over 20 years old. So it really does not matter if somebody can buy Herblore and get crazy experience. But even Invention, which is a buyable did not get the crazy experience rates of Necromancer. Jagex messed up allowing Necromancer, a combat skill be trained as a buyable non combat skill. I admit I recently got 120 Herb by doing dxp weekend. Getting over 40 mil exp in 5 hours. But think about it. Catching up on an old skill is a lot different than gaining 200 mil experience, in a new skill, in less than a week.

Herblore wasn't buyable for 20 years. That's the point. We are talking about MTX in this thread.

Bond MTX only existed in Jagex's games since 2013, not for 20 years. Even Necromancy is fast leveling, they are still a lot of times required on doing ritual and we can't buy time.

Herblore isn't the only buyable skills either. Even players from RSC should know skills like Construction are heavily buyable.

Fact is for the amount of , Mtx forced upon the runescape community that plays runescape 3, You would expect to see the same amount of content updates as other mmos like wow, But instead are exposed to more and more of MTX, Instead of actual game updates.

Herblore was always buyable. Not like it is now. But it was always buyable. Yes, there was no GE. But you could trade the herbs. You are losing the point completely. A new skill should be barred from fast experience until it has been around for at least six months. In the old days of the game, experience gains were a lot slower. In fact, nobody was maxed combat even. Now people expect to be maxed out less than week after a skill is released. The game is no longer fun. It isn't when people max out in such a short time. High scores used to have the names switch around several times in the old days. When a new skill was released. It made things fun. When Necromancer came out. It was the same old maxed out characters on the front page.

There was no Construction in RSC.

I agree even with the nerfs applied to necromancy rituals it is super easy to level it, The overall xp rates across combat and rituals make leveling the skill to easy to level up when compared to back in the day. With the addition of so many dxp events a year in rs3 everything is turning into a joke instead of being even somewhat of a challenge.

Especially with all those bots in that thing next to the duel arena putting garmers out of business. Sorcerer's garden was it.

Could have had a quest where Ux gets taken away by the fairies, to mushroom land then the dwarves have to sort him out and the gnomes deliver the herbs and the elves and druids make new potions.

But no. You got a battle pass.

We are not in the old days, we are in 2023. You may say technically there was no Construction in RSC because it came out just months later but it was a buying skill even in early 2006.

Necromancy may be fast to level, but it is not as buying as Herblore and Construction. Note that we are talking about MTX, not just about what skills should take longer time to max out.

Hilda, you've lost the argument by admitting players like Treasure Hunter...

I don't know that I'm exactly making an argument here, but the goal isn't to pick a fight - its to open up discourse beyond Hero Pass using the backdrop of how the community responded to it specifically as an inflection point. What happened last week in terms of Public Relations surrounding the game is highly relevant to -all MTX- when you have figures like Mod Warden acknowledging the players were LIVID over it in Hero Pass. Those events caused Jagex to change course away from it as a whole with regards to that feature of the game.

Jagex doesn't want a healthy game...

I don't believe this for a second, and I'm going to again mention Hero Pass - this time for Jagex' perspective. Mod Jack, almost two weeks ago now, went on a live stream and explained why Treasure Hunter keys were originally removed from the new iteration of Daily Missions.

His explanation revolved around how the items gained from Treasure Hunter were being misused by players in their eyes (stockpiled and used in mass quantities during events like DXP) and that Jagex viewed that as harmful to the game.

Of course, both of us know that this wasn't a full step in the right direction on that front, but it was weirdly an acknowledgement of some sorts that Treasure Hunter, even if players partake on it on a daily basis (can't imagine the popup you see every day you log in has something to do with that, Dilbert....).

So, maybe Jagex -does- care about the health of the game at least selectively, and now we know they care about player feedback when it comes overwhelmingly negative on multiple fronts. This a great time for the company to prove it. Otherwise, they shouldn't be making statements against their MTX offerings in the first place.
