What was the logic behind bringing the web cloak back?
I was under the impression that old event items were exclusive?

The people who played in 2009 and got it originally, we don't get anything special for being around?

lame.
once again veteran players are just slapped in the face by jagex.

Nope.

It was never stated to be an exclusive as jagex have never said any of these old holiday items were "discontinued".

Only the playerbase have said that and even if jagex have said so, they still have every right to bring them back as this is their game.

Plus this isnt the first time its happened at they brought back both the Snow Globe and Ice Amulet.

If they're letting people receive the Web Cloak then they can release the Christmas Crackers, Halloween masks, Santa hat, Scythe, Bunny ears and any other older event items again.

^Its probably not the best of ideas to ruin the market like that.

Plus to prove how weird that is even more, all items rereleased thus far have been non-tradeable.

The tradeable ones have only had different colored ones released, not the OGs.

Sorry bud you don't get to pick and choose.

You obviously have invested interests in phats and h'weens but jagex themselves said ALL THOSE ITEMS should be OBTAINABLE BY ALL PLAYERS and at current gp rates will not be for most.

So yes, they want to rain on veterans parade they want to devalue players who've stuck around and supported them for 15+ years then YES they can go ahead an rerelease ALL old holiday items.

And while they are at it, EVERYONE should get 20 year veterans capes, shouldn't matter how old their account is the game is X yrs old that is all that matters.


BTW from JAGEX OFFICIAL WIKI

"The skeleton mask was a holiday item received from the 2006 Halloween event."

"Skeleton mask can no longer be obtained in RuneScape after an update but still exists in-game for those who had done so."

So NO not players supporting/saying these were no longer available/obtainable but JAGEX and their OFFICIAL wiki page.

The day everyone gets handed a skeleton 06 outfit is the day I delete rs for good from my computer I am not addicted and have no problem never again supporting a company that doesn't respect nor support me back.

Just because something isn't tradable doesn't mean it is rare nor does it not hold prestige.

Only reason people want ugly phats is because they are rare.

If they mass re-released them just like in osrs people would no longer care.

Being tradable or not is NOT an excuse.

Again 20 year capes are NOT tradable but still have to have a 20yr old account, why, so they can be rare for the time being and then when most can have a 20yr cape there is a new prestige 25 or 30 yr cape EXCLUSIVE to those who started before others, NOPE!

EVEYRONE should then just be able to have 20yr now and day of release 25 yr capes not because their account is 25 years old but because the game is 25 years old, takes away from the PRESTIGE of others but OH WELL they are not tradeable!

^Sorry to burst your bubble, but the wiki isnt "official" by any means as its 100% community run.

So just because it says its no longer obtainable doesnt mean jagex said that and once again, even if they have, doesnt mean items cant ever return.

Yeah I mean I guess being around in 2009 and doing the event for the web cloak didn't matter cause you can just get it now 13 years later.

Now when I wear my cloak instead of people seeing that I was here 13 years ago, they can just assume I grinded for 20 minutes in 2022 to get it...


They also let players get eek! again too. Why?

totally agreed, the new one should be orange or purple or something, so its not the same as the OG one.
