Absolutely untrue. We have 95 new cosmetics from Hero Pass compared to like 5 from a typical Yak track.

Even if you don't count the 95 cosmetics, let alone re-colored or not, we have 6 new animations, 3 new pets, and 6 new titles. Just that are far more than the 5 Yak Track cosmetics already. Don't even get me started with the Hero Satchels that players don't want cosmetics can choose.

Dilbert2001,

As usual, you simply don’t get it. This has gone way beyond quantifying why apples are better than oranges (or vice versa).

Semantics aside, the update was bad (which I don’t need to prove to you because Jagex admitted they messed up!!) because it was rushed through half baked, without any player consent or involvement. There is an emotional level of anger and betrayal by many in the community, which just because you may not understand, does not mean that it doesn’t exist.

What should have happened before the changes went down, was Jagex should have left dailies alone to begin with, and consulted the community about the retirement of the Yak Track system and replacement with the Hero Pass system. There could have been dialogs about what parts were working and what parts weren’t, there could have been polls as to what cosmetics the community would like to see, it could have even been monetized by featuring a promotion for new first-time Premier subscribers (possibly as a bonus offer for Amazon Prime members?) tied in with the Hero Pass to encourage people to get the most out of the latest and greatest that Runescape has to offer.

If you simply can’t understand the update was bad because:

-It removed longstanding features of the game without any consent/consultation
-It did not consider the differing gameplay styles of their different customers leading certain players to feel alienated and devalued as members of the community
-It missed opportunities for player engagement, as well as product placement and promotion
-The Dailies will be brought back but will take WEEKS & players probably won’t get Skips back
-The new system should have been planned, tested and player approved BEFORE it was released!!! Big deal here!

If you just can’t understand why these things made the launch of Hero Pass one of the WORST updates in YEARS then you are simply beyond reason or help. O_o

Didn't you realize we have a new update on the new Hero Pass:

https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/hero-pass---player-feedback-update-2#

Whatever you think was bad was in the past. The new Hero Pass is very different and much better.

These sample comments after new Hero Pass should tell us players who are interested in RS3 like the revised Hero Pass a lot:

"Apparently "just remove it" ended up being perfectly acceptable feedback in the end."

"Jesus! You are actually listening to players! Welldone and thank you."

"Holy <redacted> they actually <redacted> listened

Edit: tl;dr hero pass is staying, but content buffs are being removed (and xp buffs are being made available to everyone, not just premier), also daily challenges are coming back"

"I'm seriously impressed they didn't just listen to nearly all of the feedback, but are actually returning daily challenges. not being able to buy levels of the hero pass will actually make it less MTX then yak tracks. Unbelieveable."

"Daily challenges are dailies that tie directly in with MTX. I really don’t see why people want them so bad. Hypocrites just settling. RS players aren’t against MTX, they are just against MTX they don’t want to buy."

"Absolutely untrue. We have 95 new cosmetics from Hero Pass compared to like 5 from a typical Yak track."

1. You're talking about tool overrides that nobody gives a fuck about haha.
2. There were 30 cosmetics in the last Yak track not "5" how disingenuous can you get. Just outright lying at this point. SAD
3. Many of the "95 cosmetics" are repeated and recolored to make the number bigger. Hell they even started recoloring titles.

Lets examine some of these Hero Pass outfits:

All Recolors of the same base outfit:
Crimson Guardian Outfit
Exiled Guardian Outfit
Ossified Guardian Outfit
Sanguine Guardian Outfit
Grave Guardian Outfit

All Recolors of the same base outfit:
Undead Slayer Outfit
Anointed Slayer Outfit
Midnight Slayer Outfit
Celestial Slayer Outfit

Title Recolors:
4 recolors of the "of the Undead" title
4 recolors of the "the Lost Soul" title
4 recolors of the "the Spirit Caller" title

The list of 21 cosmetics I just gave contains only 5 major unique cosmetics and 16 recolors of them.
This wasn't even counting all the swords, staffs, and books associated with outfits that were also recolored.

Can't you just go into the Hero Store and see there are 30 distinctive items just from the cosmetic category alone?

Only very few items are "recolored" version of another item.

Nobody gives a <profanity redacted> about overrides? Please check out the totally player driven RS3 GE and everybody can see overrides selling for tens of millions to hundreds of million of gp.

The beauty of RS3 overrides is they aren't just cookie cutter "tools". We have all kinds of ability, animations, walks, teleports, skilling overrides etc among all kinds of activities.

I specifically said tool overrides dilbert please read my posts instead of crapping out useless responses.

Nobody cares about things like "skeletal hammer" or the tombstone above the head skilling animation.

You can censor me all you want. It doesn’t make anything said any less true. This is an open forum isn’t it? Some people go around posting on every single thread and rehashing the same tripe over and over.

Last time I checked we were still in a democracy. Oh wait, we are because the majority has clearly ruled.

Years ago you could actually report people for spamming and deliberately derailing the topic of the thread, so if you really want to go there, how about promoting people actually make suggestions about what changes would be the best for everyone?

In either event I am so done and over it. I have nothing else to add on this matter that it was a bad update, Jagex agreed it was a bad update and the rest is irrelevant, end of story!
Moderate that.
